    Summary: Normal-phase magnetic susceptibility anisotropy DX=Xc-Xab, ofYBa2Cu3O7-y, Bi2.2Sr1.75CaCu2O8 and La2-xSrxCuO4(x=0.01,0.025,0.05,0.1) single crystals have been measured.Detailed description of torque magnetometer has been reported. Weassume X(T)=DXVanVleck+DXg(T)+DXdia(T), in the normal phase forall metalic samples. Below some temperature Tdia, an anomaloustemperature-dependent diamagnetic contribution DXdia develops inall the samples. The DXdia contribution increases until at somelower temperature the superconducting phase starts to develop.
