Summary: Experimental results for Hall effect in heavy fermion and
mixed valence systems are reviewed and discussed in terms
of skew scattering. Some particular features of the Hall
effect at low temperatures (the influence of coherence,
magnetic correlations and the anomalous velocity
contribution) are presented as well. Finally, we present
Hall effect data for an extensive list of systems.

Summary: We have measured the slow magnetic relaxation due to flux
creep in a Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 sample over the temperature range
0.1-30K. The quasi-logarithmic relaxation does not come to
a halt as the temperature tends to zero, indicating that a
nonactivated relaxation process dominates at low
temperatures.

Summary: We present Hall effect measurements on disordered
(Ce(CuxGa1-x)5 Kondo alloys (x=0.8 and x=0.6) in the
temperature interval 0.1 to 200 K and in the magnetic
fields up to 7 T. We observe a continuous increase of the
Hall constant RH(T) at low temperatures, which is typical
of incoherent Kondo systems. In CeCu4Ga, RH(T) exhibits
also a weak maximum at ÷ 0.3 K. Above the Kondo
temperature, RH(T) is well described by a single impurity
skew scattering model. In addition, magnetoresistivity
data for CeCu4Ga (T > 0.2 K) are presented, showing
different behaviour for temperatures below and above 2 K.

Summary: We report Hall effect (1.3 - 30 K) and magnetoresistivity
(1.3 - 20 K) measurements on YbNiSn compound. It has been
found that it is a Kondo lattice system with a
ferromagnetic ordering below Tc = 5.5 K. We observed that
the Hall constant RH(T) increases as the temperature
decreases and has a sharp peak at about Tc. Also, below
Tc, the Hall resistivity versus H curves exhibit a
highly non-linear magnetic field dependence with features
suggesting a crossover to a new electronic state above 2
T. The magnetoresistivity is high with a magnetic field
dependence similar to that of Hall resistivity.

Summary: We have measured the magnetic susceptibility (2 K < T <
300 K) and the electrical resistivity under pressure (1.2
K < T < 300 K: p < 20 kbar) of the Kondo lattice compound
YbNiSn, which may be considered as the "hole" analogue of
the isostructural compound CeNiSn. In contrast with
CeNiSn, YbNiSn does not show an energy gap at low
temperatures but instead ungergoes a magnetic phase
transition at TM= 5.5K. The magnetic state might be either
a weakly ferromagnetic or a complex antiferromagnetic state.
By applying pressure the room temperature resistivity thetemperature
resistivity (rRT) decreases, while TM increases.
This behaviour can be interpreted with respect to Doniach's
Kondo necklace model as a decrease in the local exchange
coupling constant J with increasing pressure, which
reduces Kondo spin compensation and favors long-range
magnetic order. These results show that the idea that
YbNiSn is the hole counterpart to CeNiSn holds well for
the properties such as dTM/dP and drRT/dP but it fails in
more detailed aspects, such as the origin of the energy
gap formation.

Summary: We present an investigation of the low temperature
properties of the ternary intermetallic alloy YbNiSn by X-ray and
neutrondiffraction, resistivity, magnetisation and Mossbauerspectroscopy
measurements. It is shown that YbNiSn is aferromagnet (Tc=5.65 K) with the
Yb3+ magnetic moments lyingalong the orthorhombic c axis. At low
temperatures a stronganisotropy of the interionic coupling is evidenced,
whichcompetes with the Crystal Electric Field anisotropy, leading tothe
unusual situation where the ferromagnetic moments do not liealong the easy
magnetisation axis a. Hybridisation of the 4felectrons with band electrons
leads to a reduction of thespontaneous moment and is likely to be the
origin of the largevalue of the molecular field constant, as well as of
theanisotropy of the exchange interaction and of the resistivity.

Summary: We have studied the influence of the magnetic field in the
plane perpendicular to the highly conducting axis on the
ohmic and non-ohmic electrical transport in the
spin-density wave state of the organic conductor
(TMTSF)2NO3. In particular, we report (1) the angular
dependence of the magnetoresistance at different
temperatures and in low electric fields and (2) magnetic
field dependence of the threshold electric field for the
non-ohmic conductivity. We discuss obtained results and
compare them with the behaviour found in the spin-density
wave state of the other (TMTSF)2X compounds.

Summary: We report a study of the transverse-magnetoresistance
anisotropy in the spin-density wave phase of the organic
conductor (TMTSF)2NO3 at temperatures down to 1.8 K and
in fields up to 6 T. The transverse magnetoresistance is
highly anisotropic and obeys a temperature- and
angular-dependent power law behaviour. The indication of
a possible field-induced SDW phase is discussed. We
suggest that the SDW with large imperfect nesting
together with a periodic anion potential might be
responsible for the observed magnetic-field effects.

Summary: We have used electric-dependent measurements to probe
themagnetic-field dependence of the phase-coherence lenght in
thespin-density-wave (SDW) state of the organic conductor(TMTSF)2NO3. The
threshold electric field increases if a magneticfield is applied in the
plane perpendicular to the highlyconducting axis. The magnitude of the
increase is angle-dependentand vanishes when the field is applied along
theintermediate-conductivity axis. This behavior results from areduction of
the phase-coherence lenght of the SDW with stronglyimperfect nesting in a
magnetic field.

Summary: We present the influence of a transverse magnetic field on
the spin-density wave (SDW) ground state of the organic
conductor (TMTSF)2NO3. Magnetic field increases the
single-particle activation energy. A finite magnetic field
(Hc) induces dicontinuities in the magnetoresistance
behaviour and its value is temperature dependent. The
threshold electric field (ET) for the SDW sliding
increases in a magnetic field. All observed effects are
strongly angle-dependent indicating that they are
determined by the magnetic field component along the
least-conduction (c*) direction. We discuss these results
in the framework of a theoretical model for the SDW with
large imperfect nesting.
