Summary: Influence of gel ageing on the mechanisms and kinetics
ofcrystallization of zeolites X and P was investigated. The resultshave
shown that zeolite P crystallizes as the only crystallinephase when frashly
prepared gel was heated at 80oC, while thefraction of zeolite X in the
crystalline end product increaseswith the gel ageing. The obtained results
were analyzed andexplained in accordance with well-known and developed
models of
zeolite crystallization.

Summary: The influence of type of zeolite, concentration of NaOH
andtemperature was studied by measuring concentration of Si and Alin the
liquid phase, degree of polycondensation of silicate ionsin liquid phase,
and change in the particulate properties of thesolid phase during the
dissolution. The kinetics of dissolutionwere described by the equations
derived on the basis of Daviesand Jones model, taking into consideration
chemical andstructural properties of studied types of zeolites.

Summary: The changes of characteristic parameters during
thecrystallization of zeolite A from differently aged gels weresimulated by
population balance method, using appropriatemechanisms of gel dissolution,
formation of primary zeoliteparticles (nucleation) and their crystal
growth. The correlationbetween simulated values and experimental data
showed that a
combination of heterogeneous and autocatalytic nucleation isresponsible for
the formation of primary zeolite particles.

Summary: The products obtained by ball milling of different types of
zeolites were characterized by different methods such as
X-raydiffractometry, SEM, FTIR, particle size analysis, measuring
ofcation-echange capacity and solubility and thermal analysis.Based on the
analysis of the results obtained it was concludedthat amorphization is
caused by breaking of the characteristicSi-O-Si and Si-O-Al bonds of
zeolites. Kinetic equation of theamorphization was derived.

Summary: Chemical and structural properties of the mixed metal
oxides,Fe2O3, Fe2O3-In2O3, Fe2O3-Eu2O3 and Fe2O3-Gd2O3, were studiedusing
X-ray diffraction technique, Moessbauer and IRspectroscopy. The
concentration range of the formation of solidsolutions in the Fe2O3-Ga2O3
and Fe2O3-In2O3 systems as well asthe distribution of oxide phases in the
Fe2O3-Eu2O3 andFe2O3-Gd2O3 systems were determined. New
accuratecrystallographic data were determined for the oxide Gd3Fe5O12.

andoxides, precipitated from FeSO4 aqueous solutions, were studiedusing
Moessbauer spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Themechanism of
precipitation of iron oxihydroxides and oxides fromFeSO4 solutions has been
discussed. Chemical and structuralproperties of the rust, formed by the
corrosion of steel inaqueous solutions, were studied using X-ray
diffraction, FT-IR,and Moessbauer spectroscopy.

Summary: The apperance of discontinuites of the surface tension
tetha and viscosity as the functionof tensidecontrentation was analysed by
measurements of thesurface tension and the solution/air interphase. The
interactions performed on very clead systems of n-dodecylammonium nitrate
(DAN) in water led to the conclusion that in the investigated systems
premicellar associates are formed. The change of the associates specific
volume cause the formation of a theta vs. logc maximum before the negative
slope of the same function. The structural change in critical association
concentrations corresponds with the critical flocculation and stabilization
concentrations, chracteristic for DAN at the presence in negative inorganic
sols. The model of simple quantittive relationsships concerning the
ractructuration of premicellar associate was studied. The schematic model
of tranformation from simpler to more complex associate struture is
proposed.

Summary: Influence of different factors on the rate of dissolution
of amorphous alumosilicate was investigated by measuring Si and Al
concentrations in the liquid phase, degree of polycondesation of silicate
anion in the liquid phase and change of phase properties of the solids
during the dissolution. On the basis of analysis of the experimental
results, konetic equation of the dissolution process of aluminosilicate
precursor is derived and the mechnism of the dissolution is considered.

Summary: In thi work properties of multicomponent mixtures,
consisting of rhodamine 6G, methilene blue and Na-n-dodecylsulphate were
experimentaly determined. Results obtained by turbidity and surface tension
measurements together whit electrophoretic mobility data, indicate that in
examined multicomponent systems the higly stabile mexed mecellas were
formed. The resulting electrostatic change of mexed micellas depend on
molar ratio of cationic and anionic component in the system.

Summary: Studied was the nature of mutual interactions in
two-component surfactant systems consisting of:
System A: cationic surfactant, Na-n-dodecylamine of nitrate form
+ anionic dye Na-fluoresceinate
System B: anionic surfactant, Na-n-dodecylsulphate + cationic
dye, methylene blue
and in a series of four-component eystems obtained by combination of system
A and system B.
Very intensive associative interaction and re-structuring of the starting
structure, resulting in completly new properties of the polycomponent
surfactant solutions, were observed. By selecting two-component systems of
different electrostatic properties, the formation of a series of systems
with new electrostatic characteristics can be achived.
The nature of mutual interactions and of the factors influencing the
balance of two- and four-component surfactant systems were studied
byTyndallometry and determination of surface tension, electrostatic changes
and electrophoretic mobility.
