Summary: Three thin film galvanic cells Zn/gamma-AlOOH/ZnO,SnO2, Al/gamma-AlOOH/ZnO,SnO2 and Al/gamma-AlOOH/TiO2,ITO were formed on glass plates. The oxide films TiO2 and ITO were deposited bz atomic layer epitaxy (ALE), SnO2 by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and YnO by the spray method. The gamma-AlOOO solid electrolyte film was placet on top of TiO2,ITO or Yno,SnO2 double thin films. A Yn or Al plate anode was spring-contacted on top of all the layers. Charge-discharge cycles were measured with a constant current of 10-7 to 10-3 A. The complex impedance measurements withthe gamma-AlOOH film performed in the 5 Hz - 3MHy range using Al electrodes.

Summary: Chemical and structural properties of the system Fe2O3-SnO2 were investigated. On the basis of XRD results it can be generallyconcluded that in the samples prepared there is no affinitybetween Fe3+ and Sn 4+ ions to make the solid solutions, as inthe case between Fe3+ and Ga3+ or In3+, although the ionic radiiof Fe3+ and Sn4+ ions do not differ. Moessbauer spectra indicatedvery small amount of dissolved Sn4+ ions at the a-Fe2O3-richside.

Summary: The electrokinetic mobilities (EPMS) of model mineraldisperssions in artificial seawater and natural seawater weremeasured. The solid samples used in this work can be classifiedin three groups: (1) clay minerals (kaolinite, bentonite); (2)artificial calcite (SOCAL), natural calcite-raw material(POLICARB); (3) lake and sea sediments. It was concluded that theelectrokinetic data under natural conditions, characterized by ahigh ionic strength, stable pH and a variety of adsorbablespecies, do not show specific differences between various solids.

Summary: str. 437 - 440 XVI jugoslavenski simpozij zaštite od zračenja, Neum 28. - 31. 5.1991. Due to simplicity of treatment, great practical experiences, lowcost and accessibility of material, cementing is at time a very usefulmethod for immobilization of low- and medium-lewel radioactive waste fromnuclear facilities. Satisfactory properties of the final product(mechanical resistance, stength) makes that cementig is favorized in relation to othermethods. Zbog jednostavnosti postupka, velikog praktičnog iskustva, niskecijene i dostupnosti materijala, cementiranje je danas vrlo pogodna metodaza imobilaizaciju nisko- i srednjeradiaktivnog otpada iz nuklearnihpostrojenja. Zadovoljavajuća svojstva konačnog produkta imobiliozacije(mehanička otpornost, čvstoća) daju cementiranju prednost pred ostalimmetodama. Summary: Anlysing the distribution of cesium ions throughout the columnater ion-excahnge process was finished, it was found that theprocess of exchange of cesium radioisotopes from solution withthe exchangeable ions from natural clinoptilolite (NC) took placein accordance with previously developed model. Using the valuesof experimentally determined constants in model equations it ispossible to define the optimal conditions for efficient removalof cesium from solutions.

The correlationbetween simulated values and experimental data showed that a combination of heterogeneous and autocatalytic nucleation isresponsible for the formation of primary zeolite particles.

Summary: Electron diffraction, thermal analysis and FTIR spectroscopy were used in the study of structural properties of X-ray amorphous aluminosilicate gels. Results of the analysis showed that the X-ray amorphous gels content structurally ordered regions, or particles of partly-crystelline phase which can be destroyed by heating at appropriate temperature. The influence of the observed structural properties of gels on the results of their hydrothermal treatment is discussed.

Summary: The influence of the type of alkali kations (lithium, sodium, potassium) on the properties of aluminosilicate gels was studied by multinuclear Magnetic Resonance. The role of lithium, sodium and potassium ions is discussed as "strucure-forming" and "structure-breaking" kations in both gelation and the crystallization processes.

Summary: Influence of seeding (1 wt. % of zeolite X and zeolite NaPc,respectively), on the crystallization of zeolites NaPc and X fromfreshly prepared gel of the composition 4.24 Na2O Al2O3 3.56SiO2 230.6 H2O was investigated by XRD and SEM methods. Analysisof the experimental results leads to the conclusion that thesmall spherulites of zeolite NaPc were formed by the growth ofparticles of quasicrystalline phase released from the gel duringthe crystallization.

Summary: In solution mediated transformsations, supersaturation of liquidphase with reactive species is of great importance. Introducingthe membrane reactor in zeolite synthesis, a new method ofdiffusion controlled crystal growth was achieved. Also, theanalyze of two crystalline phases separately (particle sizedistribution especially) and influence of concentration of the reactive species in the liquid phase, seeding etc. onkinetics of transformation are possible.

Summary: Different methods such as X-ray diffractometry, FTIR analysis, cation exchange capacity and solubility measuring were used tocharacterize the effects of mechanochemical treatment (ballmilling) of various zeolites. Analysis of the experimentalresults showed that the loss of crystallinity during the millingis caused by breaking of the Si-O-Si and Si-O-Al bonds inzeolite structure.

Summary: X-ray diffractometry, FTIR analysis, cation-exchange capacity and solubility were used to characterize the effect of ballmilling on zeolitea A, X and synthetic mordenite. Changes of IRspectra during the ball milling show that a loss ofcrystallinity, a decrease of cation-excahnge capacity and anincrease of solubility were caused by breaking of Si-O-Si and Si-O-Al bonds in the zeolite structure. Based on such aconclusion, the kinetic equation of the amorphization process wasderived and evaluated.

Summary: The powders of gamma-AlOOH, gamma-Al2O3 and delta-Al2O3 were milled in a Fritsch planetary micromill, and in addition, thestarting powders were submitted to heat treatment. In both cases (milling and heating), each of the starting materials weregradually transformed to more stable phases with alpha-Al2O3 asthe final product. The experiments performed showed theequivalence of the milling and of the thermal treatment of thealuminas. The transformation sequence showed to be nearly thesame in the both cases.

Summary: The apperance of discontinuites of the surface tension tetha and viscosity as the functionof tensidecontrentation was analysed by measurements of thesurface tension and the solution/air interphase. The interactions performed on very clead systems of n-dodecylammonium nitrate (DAN) in water led to the conclusion that in the investigated systems premicellar associates are formed. The change of the associates specific volume cause the formation of a theta vs. logc maximum before the negative slope of the same function. The structural change in critical association concentrations corresponds with the critical flocculation and stabilization concentrations, chracteristic for DAN at the presence in negative inorganic sols. The model of simple quantittive relationsships concerning the ractructuration of premicellar associate was studied. The schematic model of tranformation from simpler to more complex associate struture is proposed.

Summary: Studied was the nature of mutual interactions in two-component surfactant systems consisting of: System A: cationic surfactant, Na-n-dodecylamine of nitrate form + anionic dye Na-fluoresceinate System B: anionic surfactant, Na-n-dodecylsulphate + cationic dye, methylene blue and in a series of four-component eystems obtained by combination of system A and system B. Very intensive associative interaction and re-structuring of the starting structure, resulting in completly new properties of the polycomponent surfactant solutions, were observed. By selecting two-component systems of different electrostatic properties, the formation of a series of systems with new electrostatic characteristics can be achived. The nature of mutual interactions and of the factors influencing the balance of two- and four-component surfactant systems were studied byTyndallometry and determination of surface tension, electrostatic changes and electrophoretic mobility.
