Summary: Deformational processes in carbonate rocks are
analyzed. The two mainperiods compressional tectonics with intermediate
stage were established. The details of structural elements peculiar to
carbonate rocks are observed. The presented explanations are supplemented
with images showing the formation of structural elements related to certain
deformational phases. Particularl, the relation patterns among developed
joint and fault sets as well as the displacement of structural blocks are
emphasized.

Summary: The carbonate and flysch rock complexes included into the
overthrust structure are studied. The structural elements that speak for
the character of deformational processes, the folding and faulting types
and the change in implied stress regime are analyzed as well. Particularly,
the origin mechanism oof the observed elements within the active overthrust
zone is considered. The relation between the previous phases and the
youngest, recent one is explained.

Summary: The suothern part of the Pannonoan basin is the main oil
bearing area in Croatia. About 7o mil tons of oil and cca 3o billion of
cubic meters of gas werw produced in this part of the basin. This certainlz
is the most explored area, bat is very likely that potential new
hydrocarbon discoveres may still be found there.
A complex strudy is being prepared for this purpose, of witcs the
reconstruction of tectonic events is only a part. Tectonic movements are
equally for the formation of structures and structural closures (traps) as
for the hydrocarbon migration in general.
Keywords: Hydrocarbon distribution, tectonic events, Panonnian basin.

Medvednica fault zone (Croatia)

Summary: The Medvednica fault zone is prominent in the western
margin of the Pannonian basin. The zone represents the border between
different structural systems and is distinguished by the seizmotectonic
activyti. The space concentration indicates the relationship with the
reverse and normal faults. By the deep data analysis the positions of
different rock masses are established that form the geological structures
in the vicinity of the Medvednica fault. New cognitions on the origin of
the treated zone in the Neogene and the Quarternary are achieved, as well
as the stress activitz and the movement of the structures in space.
Significance of the zone possition in relation to the central parts of
the Pannonian basin and the Alps and the Dinarides structures is evaluated.
Keywords: Medvednica fault, seizmotectonic activity, Pannonian basin.
