Title: A wide Sigma-range rule for frequency scaling of propeller cavitation noise spectra

Summary: Experimental data collected in an onboard measurement are applied to check some of the rules used for scaling the frequency of the maximum of a propeller cavitation noise spectrum. The rules proposed by Blake and Ross prove applicable only in incipient, viz. developed cavitation regimes, whereas a new rule in a form of a smooth analytical combination of these two rules is, in both classes of regimes, in good agreement with the propeller data, and also with the data on rotating rod cavitation noise of Lesunovskii and Khokha. However, the new rule does not comply with some published data on hydrofoil and model propeller cavitation noise.
