Summary: Summary: An integrated approach to the design, implementation and testingof the digital servo system for laser beam positioning ispresented in this article. Hardware realization of the basicelements which constitute the realized servo system has beendescribed, including logic for multiplication of pulses fromincremental shaft encoder, their integration, and logic forpulse-width modulation. In the control system design approach, asuitable technique based on the pole placement method usingoutput feedback, integral and feedforwardcontrol has beenintroduced. Software implementation of the control law issupported by a highly efficient, flexible and portable C-sourcecode generator. Using the teal-time simulator of the plant astestbed working environment, debugging and functional testing ofa prototype on-board microprocessor controller has beenperformed.

Summary: The needs for a high real-time simulation have always been verychallenging from the technological and theoretical point of view. This article discusses some of the generic issues important indesign and development, of state-of-the-art tactical trainingsimulators. Ashort review of 6DOF mathematical models formultiple independent moving objects is presented. Specialattention is paid to the sound and 3-D vision fidelity, for fixed-eyepoint angle-agile trainees. A mathematical and numericalbackground is given, paying attenton to the possiblesimplifications needed for a successful real-time implementationusing a low-cost PC-based multiprocessor's platfofm. Finally, ashort discussion of such hardware prerequisites is given.

Summary: The speedup factor in real time simulation of dynamic systems using multiprocessor resources depends on: the architecture of the multiprocessor system, type of interconnection between parallel processor, numerical methods and techiques used for discretization and task asssignment and scheduling policy. The minimization of the number of processors needed for real time simulation requires the minimization of processors times for inteprocessors communications and efficient scheduling policy. Therefore, this papers presents a methodology for the real time simulation of dynamic systems including new pre-emptive static assignment and scheduling policy. The advantages of applying digital signal processor with parallel architecture, for example TMS320C40, in the real time simulation have been described.
Keywords: Parallel Real Time Simulation, Pre.emtive Static Scheduling Policy, Hard DeadlinePeriodic Tasks, Modern Digital signal Procesors, Asynchronous Parallel Inteprocessor Communication
