    Pages: from 83 to 91
    Number of references: 13
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: Abstract - The possibility of strengthening of steel č5432 by thermal cycling treatment has been investigated. The strengthening of steel č5432 by thermal cycling treatment has been estimated on the basis of the steel resistance to brittle fracture and to excessive plastic deformation, i.e. on the basisof the yield strength and Charpy-V toughness. Better results of the yield strength and Charpy-V toughness are obtained by the appropriate thermal cycling treatment than by quenching and tempering of steel č5432.

Summary: The dependence of constructive strength and the behavior of steel on occasion of quenching, on structure of steel, and particularly, on prior austenitic grain size has been analyzed. The increase of constructive strength of quenched and tempered steel by refinement of the prior austenitic grain size may be obtained only on condition that the negative effects of decrease hardenability during quenching are avoided.

    Number of references: 12
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: The microstructure modifications rising in steel during thethermal cycling treatment with combination of diffusion anddiffusionless transformations of steel, have been investigated. Fairly better results of constructive strength are obtained bythe appropriate thermal cycling treatment than by quenching and tempering of steel. After thermal cycling treatment, steel has finer structure of the prior austenite and that is thefundamental reason for increasing of constructive strength inrelation to quenched and tempered steel.

Summary: Te optimization of steel strengthening by thermal cyclingtreatment has been done. The role of particular parts of thermal cycling treatment on steel strengthening has been investigated, and optimization of parameters of the mentionedheat treatment has also been done. In the thermal cyclingtreatment both, temperature cycling and the double quench, increase constructive strength value of steel, i.e. the steelresistance to brittle fracture and to excessive plasticdeformation. The constructive strength is not affected by thevariation of parameters of combined thermal cycling treatmentwith double quench.
