    Title: Frege: Conceptual Notation
Publisher: Filozofski fakultet u Zagrebu, Odsjek za opću lingvistiku i orijentalne studije, Izdavačka kuća "NAPRIJED"
    ISBN: 86-349-0314-1
    Year: 1992
    Number of pages: 190
    Number of references: 185
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: This book is an analysis of logic as formulated in Frege's earlyworks, especially in his "Begriffsschrift". Early Frege's theoryof judgement is analysed in detail, just as well as Frege'srepresentation of structure of proposition and inference in thelogical notation. Also, special discussion is devoted to theformulation of the first logistic system. It is shown that someof the insufficiencies of the philosophical explanationconcerning the notation, hide problems which would eventuallyshow up fully in Frege's later works.
Keywords: Frege, logic, logistics, psychologism, language, judgement, proposition, inference, modus ponens, substitution, axiom, concept, predicate, function, argument, quantifier.

Title: Quine's Critique of the Modal Predicate Calculus
    Faculty: Filozofski Zagreb
    Date of defense: 06/29/93
    Language: hrvatski
    Number of pages: 81
Summary: The central topic of this work is the criticism of quantifiedmodal logic expounded by W.V.O.Quine, and the responses by someof the contemporary logicians (Marcus, Smullyan, Cartwright,Parsons). The fundamentals of Kripke's semantics for quantifiedmodal logic are also being discussed. In author's opinion, disagreements about the very possibility of quantified modallogic hide deep philosophical differences. Therefore, one shouldnot expect for the time being any final solution, such as, forexample, the radical abandonment of the quantified modal logic.
Keywords: Quine, Kripke, Marcus, Smullyan, Parsons, Cartwright, modal logic, predicate, quantifier, semantics, identity.

    Title: Frege: Language and Reality
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: This work is a systematic analysis of the fundamental ideas ofFrege's philosophy of language. Central topics are Frege'sconceptions of function and object, and his distinction of senseand reference. Besides the original Frege's thought, the works ofhis main followers and interpreters are also being discussed.Frege's philosophy of language is here analysed especially inconnection with his specific logical doctrines, and as a basisfor the philosophy of mathematics.
Keywords: Frege, Russell, Wittgenstein, Carnap, Church, philosophy of language, function, object, reference, sense, course of values, assertion, name, identity.

  5. Type of paper: Manuscript

Title: Frege and Wittgenstein: Questions of Continuity
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: This work is an analysis of Wittgenstein's relation towards theFregean tradition in philosophy. "Tractatus" is in some essentialaspects a work representative of the tradition, and laterWittgenstein's thought was actually born out of the struggleagainst it. Two philosophical problems seem to had been decisivefor such development of Wittgenstein's thought: Frege's analysisof assertion and the problem of logical antinomies. Theabandonment of the problematic idea of a conceptual notation, asan ideal structure of natural languages, enabled Wittgenstein tosee the problems in a new light.
Keywords: Frege, Wittgenstein, Russell, conceptual notation, logic, language, logical antinomies, assertion.

    Title: Frege: Language and Reality
Type of work: knjiga u pripremi za tisak
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: The first part of the book deals with Frege's distinction of function and object. This allegedly ontological distinction is shown to be rooted in strictly logical analysis and the attempt to solve some traditional logical problems. In the second part, Frege's theory of meaning is analysed. Its main problems spring from the attempt to make the theory of meaning of proper names the foundation of the whole theory of meaning. Besides original Frege's views, the develompments or critiques in works of Wittgenstein, Carnap and Church, are also being considered.
Keywords: Frege, Russell, Wittgenstein, Church, philosophy of language, logic, function, object, meaning, reference.
