Summary: This book represents an attempt at the critical analysis of
the philosophy of the Hilary Putnam. Particular accent is given to Putnam's
philosophy of mathematics, while the discussion includes only those
sections of his philosophy of language, philosophy of natural sciencies and
philosophy of psychology to the extent to which they influenced his
standpoint on the philosophy of mathematics.
Keywords: Philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of psychology, realism, anti-realism, a priori knowledge, mathematical entities.

Summary: In this work author defends a realistic construal of
scientific theories. In the first part of the work he presents the basic
motives for realism, scepticism and antirealism. In the second part of the
work the framework of discussion is presented. In the third part of the
work author intends to prove that antirealistic arguments by which one
shows that truth is not reachable are not valid. In the forth part of the
work he intends to prove that we have good reasons for belief that
contemporary scientific theories are true.
Keywords: Realism,scepticism,antirealism,instrumentalism,truth.

Title: The Role of Presuppositions in the Logic of Belief Change

Summary: Inthe logical analysis of intesional contexts,
presoppositions are given an important role.Expressing the relation between
classical and quantified free logic as a framework of analysis,Fuhrmann's
style of the logic of belief change is proposed, as a logic which is close
to free logic. In this framework presuppositions are analysed in the same
role as Gardenfors'definition of expectation in the theory of belief
change. The only difference is that in the proposed analysis presuppositions
have clear logical support. In other words, the theory of belief change in
the analysis exhausted and systematic representation of presuppositions are
emphasised in the context of the logic of belief change.
Keywords: Presuppositions, Logic of Belief Change,Free Logic, expectations, Quantified Modal Logic.

Title: Symbolic and Subsymbolic Components in the Logic of Belief
Change
- Authors:
- Jakić, Mirko (79162)
- Brkić, Slavko (169305)
Journal: Radovi filozofskog fakulteta Zadar 30(7)1991.
Number: 9
Volume: 32
Year: 1993
Pages: from 5 to 12
Language: engleski
Summary: The intention of this paper is to "locate" symbolic and
subsymbolic components in the theory of belief change. First, I will
consider the roles of these components within the framework of epistemic
logic (Hintikka style) and then apply it on the wider context - i.e. to the
theory of belief change (Gardenfors style or A G M theory). In this way we
shall obtain the basis of the logic of belief change.
Keywords: Information independence,possible worlds,epistemic states,presuppositions,schemes.

Title: Moral Dilemmes in Deontic Logics as a Systems of Epistemic
Logic
- Authors:
- Brkić, Slavko (169305)
Journal: Filozofska istaživanja 46
Number: 52
ISSN: 0351-4706
Volume: 1
Year: 1994
Pages: from 105 to 119
Language: hrvatski
Summary: The author consider moral dilemma known as a paradox of
knower in framework of the Smiley-Hanson's systems of monadic deontic
logic. Such approach has a consequence: paradox of material implication.
Author also offer solving of the problem by taking monadic deontic logic in
the systems of epistemic logic with a propositional constant.
Keywords: Moral dilemma, paradoxes of deontic logic, paradox of knower, materijal implication, epistemic logic.

Title: Conceptual Spaces vs Possible Worlds
- Authors:
- Brkić, Slavko (169305)
Journal: Filozofska istaživanja 46
Number: 56/7
ISSN: 0351-4706
Year: 1995
Pages: from 103 to 114
Language: hrvatski
Summary: The author considers two contrary approaches:epistemic
logic with semantics of possible worlds and theory of belief change with
conceptual spaces as a basic term. Approaches are tested on some important
problems of philosophical logic such as: problem of induction (Hempel's
paradox), problem of abstraction of theory (semantics of possible worlds),
twin earth problem (Putnam's experiment). Author defends first approach
with modifications which solve mentioned problems.
Keywords: Conceptual spaces, induction, possible worlds, epistemic logic, theory of belief change.
