Summary: The book deals with implicit problems of the

compiled by Nikola Dešić, the confessor of Ana Katarina Zrinska, the wife
of the hero of Siget. The booklet was printed in Padua in the Croatian

only preserved copy kept in the Franciscan monastery in Trsat. The

Summary: "Gramatičko iskazanje ob ruskom jeziku", written by
JurajKrižanić at Tobolsk in 1665. was conceived as an all-Slavicgrammar, in
which six Slavic language systems were included butRussian and Croatian
were the most represented ones. Philologicaland specially language analysis
of the contents of Križanić'scomments relating to the Croatian language in
this grammar showthat the Croatian language was for him a hybrid language
of thewritters of the Ozalj literary-linguistic circle which operatedin

Summary: Many of the rules that determine the regularity of the
modernCroatian literary language were set in the past. From earliestwritten
monuments the consonant 'h' is marked where it belongs byethymology. It was
already regulated in the first printed grammar(Kašić 1604): that the
consonant (j) is not interposed in thevowel sequence 'i + o(l)'; that the
adverbs of place have stablemeanings (gdje - ubi, kamo - quo, kuda - qua).
In the 17thcentury a universal Croatian meaning opposition: kut
(angulusinterior) - ugao (angulus exterior) was set in the north.

historyMikalja's "Blago jezika slovinskog" bears special interest
