Summary: Musical culture in Croatia during the 17th century shows
itselfto have been a coherent whole. In the first half of the
century, musical life was enriched by powerful composing names, while inthe
second half, anonymous musical creation dominated, noted downmainly in
manuscript sheet music and musical and liturgicalmanuals. The continuity of
individual forms of music and thedispersity of some of the composing
poroceudres, provides apicture of marked aspiration towards linking the
regional musicalareas in Croatia.
