Summary: The purpose of this project is the investigation of the influence of the combined effect of no ionizing and ionizing radiation, temperature, electric and magnetic fields, and ultrasound on the fundamental biophysical parameters of the biological systems (bioelectric potentials, ionic currents, bioluminiscence, free radicals). From results obtained, the conclusions are to be made about applicability of combined effects on stimulation or inhibition of viability of cells.

Research goals: The purpose of this project is the investigation of the influence of the combined effect of no ionizing and ionizing radiation, temperature, electric and magnetic fields, and ultrasound on the fundamental biophysical parameters of the biological systems (bioelectric potentials, ionic currents,bioluminiscence, free radicals). From the results obtained, the conclusions are to be made about applicability of combined effects on stimulation or inhibition of viability of cells. The influence of the laser-radiation on the Nitella resting potentials were established. The irradiation in dark caused repolarisation of the cell membrane, proportional to the radiation intensity. The laser-irradiation combined with white and red light provoked depolarisation of the membrane. The beginning and the magnitude of depolarisation are in dependance with the laser beam intensity. This phenomenon is being closely investigated. All the investigations have not been completed, and thereforethe results are not completely elaborated.
