Summary: Conformation of Leu-enkephalin glucoconjugates were studied
(1-3)by NMR spectroscopy. The observed inter-residual ROESYcross-peaks, and
the torsional angles obtained indicate theexistence of two fairly rigid
turns in 1 involving Tyr-1 andGly-2 residues and on the other hand Leu-5
and the glucosemoiety. In the glucoconjugate 3 similar intra- and
inter-residualROESY cross-peaks as in 1 are observed.

Summary: To avoid assignation uncertainty of the peptidoglycan
monomerproton signals, and to check a correctness of the carbon
signalsassignments, we applied two-dimensional heteronucler
correlation(HETCOR) experiment, and fully assigned their substituted
carbonsignals in DMSO and water solutions. The influence of solvent
onchemical shift of the signals were determined.

the pentapeptide moiety from ROESY measurements.Dihedral angles and

chemical shifts, resp., pro-vided further experimental constraints to be
used in energy mini-mizing calculations by molecular dynamics methods.

Summary: Two-dimensional NMR experiments of peptidoglycan monomer
(PGM) inDMSO solutin, COSY and relay COSY, allowed the assignation of
allproton signals of the peptide part and most of the sugar ringprotons.
ROESY spectra, including a help in full assignation ofsugar moiety of PGM
molecule, gave the inter- and intra-molecularNOE cross-peaks indicating on
similarity of pseudoglobularthree-dimensional structure of PGM in both
solvents (DMSO andwater).

Summary: A series of 1,4-bidentate, chiral ligands
of5-pyrid-2-yl'-1,4-benzodiazepins and their R(I) complexes wereprepared.
Conformational properties of free ligands andcomplexes, stability of some
catalitic complexes in differentsolvents and different hydrogenation
conditions were studied.Hydrogenation rate dependence of pressure and
sigma-donor ligand"observer" were determined and these results were
compared withresults obtained for 2,2'-dipyridil complex, standard
4pi-symmetric ligand.
