Title: ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION ON DALMACIJACEMENT ROTARY KILNS

    Authors:
    Radić, Ivan (147413)
    Journal: Privreda Dalmacije
    Number: 7
    Volume: 28
    Year: 1991
    Pages: from 53 to 57
    Number of references: 8
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: Normal human life and work conditions include implicity that noise, vibrations, toxic substances, radiation etc. must be limited. If these limits are overcome the new dinamic balance between needs for development and the needs for environment protection have to be established. Since cement factories are supplied with dust precipitators enabling to keep dust emission under 100-130 mg/Nm3 of exit gases, it obliges cement producers at the same time to meet these requirements. It is encouraging that dust samples from Dalmacijacement plants do not contain free silicon dioxide.

Title: NITROGEN OXIDES IN THE SYSTEM OF CEMENT ROTARY KILN

    Authors:
    Radić, Ivan (147413)
    Journal: Zaštita atmosfere
    Number: 2
    Volume: 19
    Year: 1991
    Pages: from 75 to 79
    Number of references: 15
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: Since nitrogen oxides are toxic and harmful for the human health and environment, the great attention is beeing paid to their forming, to the reactions at the temperatures over 1600oC and to the reactions below 900oC. Due to the primary and secondary aier, as well as to the combustion conditions the content of NOX in kiln gases can be high and variable. Measurement of NOX concetrations is complex, and the emission limits for newer plants lie between 1.3 and 1.8 g NO2/Nm3 of exit gases.

Title: EMISSION OF DUST AND SO2 IN THE CEMENT INDUSTRY

    Authors:
    Radić, Ivan (147413)
    Journal: Kemija u industriji
    Number: 5
    Volume: 40
    Year: 1991
    Pages: from 191 to 195
    Number of references: 14
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: Long time ago it was thought that the cement plant, by emission of dust into the environment, is a mass air polutant. Dust particles are considerably bigger than smoke particlcs and, therefore, settle down faster and disappear from the atmosphere. By improvement of dedusting devices and modified fuel combustion methods, the quantity of exhausted dust, in continual cement plant operation, can be kept under 50 mg Nm- 3. Emission of sulphur dioxide occurs when the quantity of volatile sulphur compounds in a rotary kiln system exceeds the quantity of sulphur that can be bound to newly formed compounds.
Keywords: dust, sulphur dioxide, cement industry, rotary kiln, environment protection, pollutant, exit gases, emission, regulations.

Title: SULPHUR DIOXIDE IN THE ROTARY KILN SYSTEM

    Authors:
    Radić, Ivan (147413)
    Journal: Zaštita atmosfere
    Number: 1
    Volume: 20
    Year: 1992
    Pages: from 10 to 14
    Number of references: 11
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: Emission of sulphur dioxide occurs when the amount of evaporable sulphur compounds is greater than it can be incorporated in clinker minerals. It is necessary to know in advance the chemical composition of all components taking part in the process since the reactions depend on materials used. According to the regulations of most countries the emission should not exceed 400 mg SO2/Nm3. Energy saving and preserving of human environment can be economically achieved by the controlling technological process of cement clinker burning.

Title: THERMAL TREATMENT OF MUNICIPAL WASTE IN CEMENT INDUSTRY

    Authors:
    Radić, Ivan (147413)
    Journal: Gospodarstvo i okoliš
    Number: 5
    Volume: 1
    Year: 1993
    Pages: from 338 to 343
    Number of references: 9
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: Municipal waste is a mix of different materials which affecting each other increase their negative impact on the environment. Diminishing of waste generating by improvement production technology is the basic factor influencing human and environmental health. Waste incineration at relatively lower temperatures is dangerous because of the emission of harmfull matters. Using high temperature tretment generating of waste residues is minimized as well as environment pollution and only unharmful part of the waste remains permanently deposited.
Keywords: municipal waste, cement industry, management environment protection, human health, emission, harmful matter.

Title: A NEW APPROACH IN EVALUATION OF FILLER EFFECT IN CEMENT I. EFFECT ON STRENGTH AND WORKABILITY OF MORTAR AND CONCRETE

    Authors:
    Krstulović, Petar (70770)
    Kamenić, Nevenka (20024)
    Popović, Krešimir (73141)
    Journal: Cement and Concrete Research
    Volume: 24
    Year: 1994
    Pages: from 0 to 0
    Number of references: 16
    Language: engleski
Summary: The mortar and concrete specimens of equal bulk model were tested. Under this condition, their properties depend on the composition of cementitious powder only. The influence of all other components and parameters is this excluded. The test results of the compressive strength were evaluated statistically. The results suggest that a linear relationship exists between compressive strength and volumetric concentration of filler in the cementitious componenet. The relationship depends on the parameters of the bulk model and the composition of aggregate.

Title: A NEW APPROACH IN EVALUATION OF FILLER EFFECT IN CEMENT II. THE EFFECT OF FILLER FINENESS AND BLENDING PROCEDURE

    Authors:
    Krstulović, Petar (70770)
    Kamenić, Nevenka (20024)
    Popović, Krešimir (73141)
    Journal: Cement and Concrete Research
    Volume: 24
    Year: 1994
    Pages: from 0 to 0
    Number of references: 6
    Language: engleski
Summary: A method for determination of filler and clinker grading in the cement composite has been developed. The term efficiency is introduced to evaluate the effect of filler content, fineness and blending procedure on the mortar and concrete strength. Statistical evaluation showed that addition of small quantities of fine filler improves the efficiency of portland cement. The intimacy of mixing with clinker particles, such as during intergrinding of filler and cement, is a decisive factor for this positive effect.

Title: FORMATION AND EMISSION OF SO2 IN CEMENT KILNS

    Authors:
    Radić, Ivan (147413)
    Journal: Gospodarstvo i okoliš
    Number: 2
    Year: 1994
    Pages: from 186 to 189
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: Sulphur dioxide emission in cement plants can be caused by the use of natural raw materials, secondary raw materials (wastes) and fuels containing different sulphur composites. If the total amount of sulphur present is greater than it can be incorporatod in portland cement, minerals the excess will be emited through the kiln chimney. Therefore it is necessary to know the chemical composition of all components taking part in cement burning process. Depending on that the emission of sulphur dioxide differs for various plants. The total emission of SO2 into the atmosphere must not exceed 400 mg/Nm3.

Title: SLOBODNI CaO U SISTEMU CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-Fe2O3-MgO-K2O-Na2O NAKON SINTROVANJA KOD RAZLIČITIH TEMPERATURA

    Authors:
    Radić, Ivan (147413)
    Number: 48
    Year: 1995
    Pages: from 394 to 400
    Language: njemački
Summary: The object of the investigations was to study the influence of alkalis on the quantity and crystal size of free CaO in cement clinker. Cement clinker samples made from an industrial cement raw meal, without and with the addition of 2.0 wt.% Na2O and 2.0 wt.% K2O, were burnt in a laboratory furnace at 1300, 1380 and 1450oC and then cooled rapidly in air or slowly in the furnace. The content and crystal size distribution of the free CaO in polished and etched sections of the clinker samples were determined by microscope. The main result was that the addition of alkalis substantially increases the content of free CaO. There is also a significant increase in the crystal size of the free CaO, which impedes its further reaction.

The cement samples taken at random in the course of production are statistically analyzed. The data are PC-processed because of a large amount of information obtained by testing in both laboratories, and the necessity of a repeated use of the data. An appropriate software is used to correlate the cement type and the manufacturer-related information with standard requirements, and to verify both the results obtained, and the set criteria.
