    Title: Histopatological Analysis of Lindan in the Young Rainbow Trout Gills (Salmo gairdneri Richardson, 1836)

    Summary: The toxic effect on the insecticide lindan(Y-hexachlorocyclohexan) in the gills of the rainbow troutjuveniles (Salmo gairdneri, Richardson, 1836) was investigated. The experiment lasted ten days. Fishes werw placed in sevenbasins, ten fishes in each, with fifteen liters of the toxicsolution per basin. The gills of dead fishes werw treated withstandard hystological methods. Patological changes in the gillstestify the great toxicity of lindan. Cell hypertrophy andhzperplasia of the lamellar epithelial sheath werw observed.Necrotic decomposition and separation of the epithelium from thesupporting pillar was also censpicuous. Thre disorders arevarious forms of the effect of the lindan concentration usuallyresulting in an osmotic and respitatory stress.

    Summary: The species Sphoeroides cutaneus Gunther,1870 is settled in the littoral coast on muddly sands and rock,20-200 m depth off West Africa.Rare is in the area Azores.Generalli is in eastern Atlantic,Japan and Hawai (E. T o r t o n e s e,1973).In the Adriatic sea Sphoeroides cutaneus is catched with net(net wwho drawing ship) at first time 15.11.1992.(M.Kovačić,1993).From this time the Sphoeroides cutaneus is now species for Adriatic sea. The catched specimens of the species Sphoeroides cutaneus are long 20 cm.They have been shape of the ball.The shape of the ball the specimens of the species Sphoeroides cutaneus have when their limpid oesophagus is overfull of the sea water.The sea water to blow up the dermal fold of fish.We are investigated the vertebral column,upper and lower jaw-bone with teeth,pectoral and pelvic fins.Interesting is shaping and structure of the neural arch from vertebral column what are as fan.Pectoral and pelvic fins are oisseous.

    Summary: Effect of temperature,photoperiod and delayed feeding on the larval devlopment and swimbladder inflation in sea bass were studied.Temperature increased from 13 C to 19 C in the early post-larval stage adversely affected sea bass survival and dramatically reduced swimbladder inflation.Exposure to darkness during incubation and early post-larval development resulted in better survival at all tested temperatures and had no effect on swimbladder inflation.Sea bass larvae do not take Artemia nauplii offered 24 h after mouth opening,regardless of the temperature of the rearing environment.Exposure of fish to darkness during incubation and early post-larval development did not affect feeding efficiency.Sea bass feeding on Artemia nauplii may be delayed for 72 hours producing no harmful consequences in the later development.

    Summary: Toxic effect on lethal and supralethal doses on the pesticide Lindan (-hexachlorocyclohexan ) on the liver of young rainbov trout (Salmo gairdneri irideus) was investigated.Fishes were treated wit various concentraftions of acetonic Lindan solution,during a period of 10 deys.Histological analyses show hightoxicity on this pesticide.All changes were acute infiamatoriy processes whose intensity is dependent upon Lindan concentration.Changes exted from pycnoses,caryorhexes and caryolyses of cellular groups to liquefactive and coagulative necroses of broader liver regions.

    Summary: We have i investigated so far the teeth and denture of several sdpecies of the family Sparidae and for this work we have investigated the teeth and denture of species Dentex dentex from the same family.10 specimens were caught with "loung-line" in the insular zone near shores of Pelješac and the island of Lastovo,from 1985 till 1990.In the front over of the lower jaw-bone there are teeth of the caniniphorm type.In the upper as well as in the lower jaw Dentex dentex has four teeth : twoi bigger on the sides,and two smaller in the middle of the jaw-bone.The number and shape of these caniniphormm teeth is characteristic for the species in taxonommical meaning. The bite of the Dentex dentex is characteristic.Two smaller teeth on the upper jaw enter between the two lower smaller teeth.the bigger teeth of the upper jaw entering between smaller and bigger teeth of the lower jaw.

    Other: Projektom 1-06-156 obuhvaćeni su svi rodovi i njihove vrste iz porodice Sparidae.U ovom radu istraženi su oblici,veličine i smještaj zubiju kako na gornjoj tako i na donjoj čeljusti kod dobro zastupljene vrste zubaca (Dentex dentex).Proučen je ugriz kod zubaca koji je jako karakterističan za vrstu,ali i za ostale riblje vrste koje su predatori.Ova istraživanja omogućit će nam da izradimo taksonomski katalog zubiju i zubnih ugrizavelikog broja vrsta i rodova iz porodice Sparidae .Po našem mišljenju to će biti značajan prilog našoj,a i međunarodnoj ihtiološkoj znanost.

    Other: Budući se već duže vrijeme bavimo proučavanjem ribljih zubiju,a posebvno oblikom,veličinom i smještajem zubiju kod vrsta i rodova porodice Sparidae iz istočnog dijela Jadrana ovog puta smo proučiuli zubalo pagra.Na tamelju mnogih podataka možemo već sada pretpostaviti da je zubalo riba značajan taksonomski karakter.Ribe su kao i sisavci kralježnjaci pa zašto za njih ne bi bila primjenjiva ista zakonitost u građi i funkciji zubala.

    Other: Vrsta SPHOEROIDES CUTANEUS je nova vrsta za istočni dio Jadranskog mora.Ulovljena je prvi put 15.11.1992 godine u koćarskim lovinama.To je nova vrsta za Jadran.Autori radova o ovoj vrsti,a to su prof.dr.sc.Ivo Onofri i diplpmirani vetrinar Sergije Vilović predložili su za vrstu narodno ime KUGLAKOŽ,a o ovom imenu konzultirali su sa prof.Vedranom Gligo,koji je po struci latinolog.Spominjemo da je ulovljeno nekoliko primjeraka ove vrste tokom 1992,1993 god.

    Other: Gambuzija (Gambusia affinis,Baird and Girardi 1853)je introducirana vrsta.Tropskog je podrijetla,a u naše je stajaće vode unesena 30-tih godina da bi uništila komarce uzročniuke malarije.Sve su naše stajaće vode u Hercegovini i Dalmaciji naseljene ovom vrstom.Vrsta je prisutna i na otocima.Podataka o ovoj vrsti u našoj literaturi nema.Student biologije,sadašnji mr.sc. u Institutu za oceanografiju i ribarstvo,Vrgoć Nedo,a kao diplomski rad,pod mentorstvom prof.dr.sc.Iva Onofrija detaljno je obradio ovu vrstu iz nekoliko lokaliteta stajaće vode Dalmacije.Rad pod naslovom:"SISTEMATSKO - EKOLOŠKE KARAKTERISTIKE GAMBUZIJE (GAMBUSIA AFFINIS, BAIRD AND GIRARDI 1853) SLATKIH VODA KOPNENOG DIJELA SREDNJE DALMACIJE",Sveučilište u Splitu,Filozofski fakultet u Zadru,OOUR Prirodoslovno - matematičkih znanosti i studija odgojnih područja u Splitu.Split, 1991 ( rukopis).

    Summary: Wastewater sludge contains a variety of mikrological species that originate in the human diseases.in order to overcome the biological risik associated with sludge utilization,low-cost method are being sought which can be used to efficiently inactivate pathogenic organiams in sludge.Heat inactivation mesurement have been made on faecal streptococci,coliforms and salmonellae in liquid and composted sludges.Experiments are currently under way to determine the long-range effect of lower temperature (45 - 55 C ) on apatogenic bacteria.

    Other: Ovaj rad odnosi se na proučavanje patogenih bakterija koje štetno utjeću na ljude,zivotinje,a posebno na ribe u stajaćim ili tekućim vodama na području Dalmacije.Kako u mnogim vodotokovima dolazi do zagađenja otpadnim vodama potrebno je ustanoviti na koji naćin će se iz njih otkloniti patogene bakterije koje štetno djeluju na sva živa bića u tekućim ili stajaćim vodama.Budući da mnoge stajaće vode preko ljeta snize svoj nivo moguće je pterpostaviti,na temelju ovog eksperimentalnog rada,o kojem se stupnju samoočišćenje mojže pretpostaviti i što je još potrebno da se sprijeće moguća uništenja faune,a posebno riblje mlađ.
