Summary: In the Adriatic Sea, about 3760 species from groups
discussed arenoted, 4 among them perhaps are endemics. This makes 60-70 %
ofall species recorded in the Mediterranean. From the continentalhabitats
of the ex Yugoslavia, about 5100 species and 1140subspecies are known. In
general, our fauna is scarcely known, the number of taxonomists is much too
low, and the shortage intaxonomic literature is acute.

havecollected benthic algae at 105 sites from the surface tillmaximum 36
meters depth. With an account to the diversity ofmarine benthic flora,
Rhodophyta absolutely dominated, 147 taxawere noted. The Phaeophyta and

Summary: Direct divers' observations at 110 localities around the
Lošinj,Ilovik, Susak and Unije Islands revealed the following threemarine
phanerogams: Posidonia oceanica, Cymodocea nodosa andZostera noltii. The
most conspicuous species was Posidoniaoceanica, forming wide homogeneous
meadows on rocky, gravely andsandy bottom, from the sea surface to 25
meters depth. Cymodoceanodosa was noted at shallow pure sands and silty
sands. Zosteranoltii rarely has been noted.

Summary: In the course of biocoenological surveys, living bivalves
werecollected by divers, and by means of grabs and dredges. 38species from
22 families were identified. Data on their localdistribution patterns and
some interesting remarks are added. Thespecies number is nearly the same as
recorded previously. Thecomparison was difficult due to synonyms used,
unknown collectionsites, and a possible identification of dead shells by
oldauthors. Two species, i.e. Crassostrea gigas and Layonkairealayonkairei
previously were not noted in this area.
