Summary: Electron - microscopis studies were conducted to
observeultrastuctural changes during differentiation of
eosinophilicgranulocytes in carp (Cyprinus carpio L.). Differentiation at
themyelocyte stage was found to relate to specific granules made ofdense
and light fields. By maturation they assume a mosaic-liketexture and in
each granule of mature granulocytes, a light, central "internum" and a
peripheral dense wrapper can bedestinguished. The activity of peroxidase
and acid phosphatase islocated in the internum and of peroxidase in the
wrapper of thegranules.

Summary: Larvae after hatching, 30-day old early juveniles, 1-year
oldjuveniles and adult carps (Cyprinus carpio L.) were treated withPb(NO3)2
in concentrations of 25, 50, 100 and 200 mg/L water.Timms histochemical
method was used for observation of leadaccumulation in brain, liver and
kidney.
All larvae perished after being treated over a period of 7 days, but no lead
was found in them. In the liver of late juvenile andadult carps lead
inclusions are found in hepatocytes from the14th day of treatment onwards.
In the brain of late juvenile andadult carps lead was detected in capillary
walls after a 7-daytreatment. Lead inclusions in kidney are found only
inexceptional cases in few tubules.

Summary: Larvae, early juvenile, late juvenile and adult carps
(Cyprinuscarpio L.) were treated with 25, 50, 100 and 200 mg Pb/L
waterduring 7 to 35 days. In the liver the biggest lead accumulationwas
found in early juvenile, less in late juvenile and very lowin adult carp.
In the kidney of juveniles lead was found in onlya smaller number of
tubules, whereas in adult carps most of thetubules showed lead particles.
Lead accumulation in brain provedto be significantly dependent on the age
of carp. Thus while nolead could be detected in the brain of the early
juvenile, latejuvenile and adult individuals showed lead presence in
capillarywalls. Lead treated larvae lived only one week and no lead
wasfound in them within that period. As from the examined low
leadconcentrations, accumulation in organs is primarily dependant onthe
duration of contamination and the age of fishes.

Summary: All organs, especially heart, show extremely high
zincaccumulations. The presence of cadmium, lead and copper isdetected in
all organis and of mercury in Barbus barbus L. and toa minor extent only.
Minimum metal content is found in muscles.

Summary: Copper accumulation in the liver tissue of the carp treated
with200 mg/L CuSO4 was examined. The histochemical analysis of thetissue
was performed with the sulfide-silver method (Timm) andthe PAS-reaction. It
has been found that the carpshepatopancreas is the only tissue in which
copper accumulates inthe amount large enough for histochemical analysis. An
interactionbetween the accumulated copper and the glycogen content in
theliver parenchyma was also observed. The increased amount ofcopper is
accompanied with the decrease of the glycogen content, and with the zonal
differences in its distribution.
