Summary: The first discovery of Arum alpinum in Apulia, on Gargano, is reported. The chromosome number 2n=28 hasbeen determined and some other taxonomically important characters are given.

Summary: Morphological and ecological observations and karyological analyses on Arum apulum are reported. The species is tetraploid, with 2n=26 chromosomes. The karyotype is characterized by 30m + 2m-sc + 2m-s-s + 16sm + 4sm-sc + 2sm-s chromosomes. Comparative studies between karyotype of A. apulum and karyotypes of other species of the genus Arum are discussed.
