Title: Coal as a fuel for the electric power production

    Authors:
    Nuić, Jerko (7982)
    Pudelko, Ferdo
    Petričević, Franjo
    Journal: Rudarsko-geološko-naftni zbornik
    Number: 5
    ISSN: 0353-4529
    Volume: 5
    Year: 1993
    Pages: from 223 to 229
    Number of references: 10
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: Coal covers 80% reserves of the world energy potential. There areintentions of ever bigger utilization of this resource but alsoof the necessity to solve the problems of fuel-combustion puretechnology. In that context, underground gasification of coal isespecially important. The report discusses instaled energypotential in Croatia and the possibilities of activating the coaldeposits "Poljanica Sušobreg" (Croatia) and "Kongora"(Herceg-Bosna).

  2. Type of paper: Paper in proceedings

Title: Possibilities of utilizing the coal reserves in Bosnia and Hercegovina for energy needs of the Republic Croatia

    Authors:
    Živković, S
    Nuić, Jerko (7982)
    Editors
    Vujec, Slavko (53580)
Proceedings title: Zbornik radova simpozija "Doprinos rudarstva energetici Hrvatske"
    Language: hrvatski
    Place: Zagreb
    Year: 1993
    Pages: from 121 to 135
    Meeting: "Doprinos rudarstva energetici Hrvatske"
    Held: from 12/03/93 to 12/03/93
Summary: Great coal reserves are proven in Bosnia and Herzegovina.Significant power plants and surface coal mines are constructed, partly invested by Republica Croatia. Difficulties in billateralrelations are present, specially after beginning of the war.Mutual interest in energy field can be found in future. Coaldeposites situated near frontier line of South Croatia (Livno,Tomislavgrad, Bugojno) are specially interesting for Croatiawhere is now deficiency of electrical energy. With this paper wewould like to point out the possibillities authorities to beconsidered by creating future state energy policy.

  3. Type of paper: Paper in proceedings

Title: Possibility of exploitation in the pit "Tupljak" of the istrian coal mines

    Authors:
    Nuić, Jerko (7982)
    Hernitz, Zvonimir (15776)
    Faraguna, Sergio
    Editors
    Abramović, Vladimir (44)
Proceedings title: Zbornik radova simpozija "Doprinos rudarstva energetici Hrvatske"
    Language: hrvatski
    Place: Zagreb
    Year: 1993
    Pages: from 217 to 223
    Held: from 12/03/93 to 12/03/93
Summary: Coal mining tradition in Istria is 180 years old. The onlyexploitable mine there is the "Tupljak" pit where there arebalanced reserves. A part of the pit is open and completelyprepared for excavation (section II). Current production amountsto 120000 t yearly and it is planned to keep in such by 2000,after which the pit closing down is supposed. The nextexploitation field (section III) is reached by mining activities. The possibility of exploiting these reserves as well is pointedout, what may prolong the mine life time till 2007, butjustification of these tendences needs to be proved yet bytechnical-economic analysis.

  4. Type of paper: Paper in proceedings

Title: The applicability of underground gasification in coal deposits of Croatia

    Authors:
    Vrkljan, Darko (147970)
    Nuić, Jerko (7982)
    Editors
    Abramović, Vladimir (44)
Proceedings title: Zbornik radova simpozija "Doprinos rudarstva energetici Hrvatske"
    Language: hrvatski
    Place: Zagreb
    Year: 1993
    Pages: from 225 to 233
    Meeting: "Doprinos rudarstva energetici Hrvatske"
    Held: from 12/03/93 to 12/03/93
Summary: During sixty years of researchs conducted on various ranks ofcoals and various formation conditions, the method of undergroundcoal gasification became technically feasible. Control and methodconduction remained the biggest problem. By future improvement, low recovery ratio of resource will be closer to recovery ratioof coal power plant. Underground coal gasification enlarge energybase by transforming unpayable resources into energy reserves. In Croatia, more then 300 million tons of coal reserves, mainlylignite are balanced. The beds of lignite have sufficientthickness, large regularity in strike, they are situated intectonically calm areas, which makes suitable surroundings forconduction of gasification.
Keywords: coal, coal reserves of Croatia, underground gasification, method of underground gasification, filtration gasification, controlled retracting injection point

  5. Type of paper: Paper in proceedings

Title: A Contribution To the Researches In the Origion Ofthe Coal Dust Explosion By Analyzing the Occurence "In Situ"

    Authors:
    Nuić, Jerko (7982)
    Živković, Stanislav
    Mikulić, Andrija
Proceedings title: 26th International Conference of Safety In Mines Research Institutes
    Language: engleski
    Place: Katowice, Poljska
    Year: 1995
    Pages: from 101 to 110
Meeting: 26th International Conference of safety In Mines Research Institutes
    Held: from 08/04/95 to 09/08/95
Summary: The explosion of lignite coal dust caused death of whole shift (180 miners) in the pit "Dobrnja" of the Kreka mine (Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegowina). Analyzing several former coal-dust inflammations caused in the same way (desruction of the steel suport by mudcapping) under similar conditions but different occurence intensity. a possible succession of incidents from the beginning of inflammation to its transformation into explosion is discussed. Namely, local occurences were proved only with the traces of burning (5 cases), the case of a large-scale inflammation with injuries of 20 miners (30th December 1990) and the explosion itself (26th August 1990) as a final succesion of incidents.
Keywords: coal dust, lignite pit, explosion, accident
