Summary: Development of geophysical methods in the prospecting of
water, oil, gas, thermal and mineral water, minerals, and in solving the
problems in engineering geophysics. Practical application of developed
methods in Croatia: development of the technics of microgravity survey for
investigation of caves and cavities in the underground, including computer
processing of the results. Prospecting for unexploded bombs in the
underground. Investigation of military magazines hidden in the underground.
Development of high resolution reflection seismics and high precision
magnetometry. Development of geodetic methods used in geophysics.
Research goals: The aim of the project is development and
improvement of geophysical methods in order to enable more successful
prospecting of water, energy and raw materials. Geodetic surveying for
geophysics is also treated, later on military use of geophysics is also
included. A new method is developed for determining bedrock depth from
resistivity profiling. It is tested in field at Vrbovec (water
prospecting) and at Ferdinandovac (gas prospecting). An article about it
is in print, and a paper is offered to the European Association of
Exploration Geophysicists to be presented at the next meeting in Vienna.
Microgravity method is developed and used in prospectingof underground
cavities on the island Krk. Technics of high resolution reflection
seismics and high precision magnetometry isdeveloped for water and thermal
water prospecting. The analysis of seismic velocities in Croatia resulted
in a postgraduate thesis. Development of geophysical methods for military
use resulted in finding an unexploded bomb at Slavonski Brod, in producing
graphical means for determining underground magazines, use of satellites
for military purposes and in a doctorate thesis on underwater
communications.
