Summary: When gas and oil wells are completed and produced or treatedthrough the tubing connected to packer, there is a great numberof problems to be solved. Changes in temperatures and pressuresthat occure during various operations usually results in changesin tubing lengths or tubing to packer forces, depending on tubingto packer connections. This paper summarises some earlier papersand explains partly elaborated details. It also gives a completeapproach to solve problems in uniform strings regardless totubing and packer connections.

Summary: In order to select a proper material for fabrication of wear parts in various tribologycal systems it is necessary to consider factors which actually make the system itself, physical properties of material structure essential for the function and tribologycal characteristics relevant for the selection of certain material. The construction of an instrument for testing materials of seals in mud pumps, definition of testing procedure and evaluation of the obtained results are treated in this work. The tests were carried out with two different samples. The results have been elaborated based on measured friction forces and relevant friction coefficients, loss in mass or volume, linear intensity of material wearing, average shear stress, and apparent energy density of friction. Beside the described application of the instrument for simulating a hydraulic section of a mud pump, it can also simulate many other actual tribologycal situations.

Summary: Most of gas and oil fields discovered up to day in Croatia represent the hydrocarbon accumulations in layers of low permeability. To increase production it is necessary to re-drill many old wells. It can be done bz drilling with coiled tubing. Before that there are several problems that must be solved. First of all is the construction and manufacture of injector head of enough load capacity for increased weights when large diameter coiled tubing is used. Stresses associated when drilling with positive displacement motors, drill collars and other bottomhole assemblies should be computed and tested due to torsion to ensure that they can resist the torque during drilling.

Summary: During a well cementing special place belongs to the cement slurry design. Cement system designs for geothermal wells differ from those for conventional high temperature oil and gas wells in the exclusive use of silica flour instead of silica sand, and the avoidance of fly ash as an extender. In this paper, portland cement behaviour at high temperatures is described. Cement slurry and set cement properties are also described. Published in literature, the composition of cement slurries which were tested in geothermal conditions and which obtained required compressive strength and water permeability are listed. As a case of our practice geothermal wells Velika Ciglena-1 and Velika Ciglena-1a are described.

Summary: Under combination completion of gas production wells we consider all situations when one or more of the following exists: more than one size of tubing, more than one size of casing, and two or more fluids in the tubing and/or annulus. Such problems (movement and forces) are solved as though each section is a separate uniform completion and tubing is initially free to move. Analysis and solving begin with the lowermost section and the algebraic sum of each section's length change is the total length change. Neglecting of such approach and simplifying by reducing on uniform type can result with failure and recompletion expences.

Summary: The authors have elaborated basic consequences of soil pollution with hydrocarbons considering specific possibilities of sanation measures using microorganisms. A methodology of experimental research and a part of results in case of soil pollution were reviewed. Measurements were done on original samples which were taken on small oil field Đeletovci. Results can be used for prediction of spreading and intensity of soil and underground water pollution as well as for undertaking sanation measures in Croatian oil fields that had been under war actions.

Summary: In order to select a proper material for fabrication of wearparts in various tribologycal systems it is necessary to considerfactors which actually make the system itself, physicalproperties of material structure essential for the function andtribologycal characteristics relevant for the selection ofcertain material. The construction of an instrument for testingmaterials of seals in mud pumps, definition of testing procedureand evaluation of the obtained results are treated in this work.

Summary: The major problem in drilling deep wells occurs when the boreholestability is disturbed. There are two main causes of boreholeinstability and they are of mechanical or physico-chemicalnature. To complete this thesis it was necessary to: collect, observe and review the pertinent literature, systematize themetodology to be used for preventing the occurance of undesirablehole enlargement, carry out the dispersion test to find the exactinteraction between fluids and shales for which core samples oftwo wells as well as natural clay sample were used, and establishthe precise technical improvement in deep wells drilling upon theresults of above complex and thorough analyses.
Keywords: clay, borehole enlargement, borehole stability, shale, drilling fluid, dispersion

Summary: The casing setting depth selection of each individual type of casing strings is an essential stage of the casing program as an integral part of the well planning. An analysis has been made, based on comparison of forecast and actual conditions in selected exploration and development wells of the north-western area of the depression of Drava river of the Panonian basin, where the application of various methods of casing design reflects on the final selection of the casing. Optimizing the casing design for such a delicate surrounding has in view the reciprocal dependence of a number of factors and only by reconciling them shall an economically viable and balanced solution be reached, acceptable from the point of view of tolerating of a necessary or permitted risk, of the safety of the progress of further technological process, of the safety of equipment, of labour and environment.

Summary: The use of telemetris systems as a part of drilling equipment when drilling a well enables collection of great number of data about the well status, layer characteristics and well possition underground. The most important is that we get data in the real time, immediately. So we can make decisions about certain parametere that influence the status of the well. This work emphasises the importance of drilling path controlling, and measuring of geometrical, lithological and production indicators. The conclusion is based on today standard use of telemetric systems in horizontal drilling although they have been used only few years. Capabilities of such systems are not jet finished so their use is growing.
