Summary: In the article the role of mathematical modelling is outlined inthe analysis of active power and water level control system ofunique hydro-electric power plants (HEPPs) and HEPPs in a cascadeas well as in the controller design. The parallelism in processmodelling is pointed, the goals are exposed of detailed andcomplex mathematical modelling as well as the use of simplemodels. The basic modelling elements of both kinds are given. Theneed is explained for system identification for simplifiedmodel-building on the basis of process measurements for purposeof controller design. The basic identification elements arepointed, and the selection of adequate method is made. On thebasis of real data the identification is carried out. Thecomparison is made between the results of simulations using thesimple identified model and detailed model as well as realprocess data, for the reservoir water control level of a uniqueHEPP.

Summary: In the hydroelectric power plant (HEPP) water level controllerdesign, simplified and linearised process control models areused. For the model building system, identification has beencarried out, and for the model and the controller a verificationcontrol system has been simulated utilising detailed and complexmathematical models. The implemented system identification programs are described.Singular analysis method applied to the least squares criterionis argumented.

    Number of pages: 41
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: Application programs are suggested for hydro-electric power plants' (HEPPs') cascade control center in Varaždin. The programs are subdevided into categories: production scheduling - active power short term plan (planning functions), operation control (operation control functions), process simulator (study and education functions). The process characteristics are outlined. Demands on HEPPs' cascade management and control as part of electric power system, are pointed. Basic algorithms are given as well as recommendations for program system design.
Keywords: hydro-electric power plants' cascade, cascade control centre, application programs, production scheduling, operation control, process simulation, algorithms.
