Summary: Citations to papers from a multidisciplinary (natural)
sciencesinstitute which appeared in 1955-1964 were collected for a periodof
11 years after a lapse of 10 years from publication. Threeindicators were
defined, expressing the efficacy, intensity andlonevity of citation. Units
under scrunity were 28 subject topicseach containing various number of
papers. The intensity indicatorwas tackled in its original form and three
adiidtional ones ofdifferent normalization procedures. Both, Ward's
hierarchicalcluster analyisis and the polar taxon approach agreed well
indefining three clusters of the research topics. Senitivityanalysis of
cluster solution was performed in terms of stabilityand influence
indicators.
