    Language: engleski
    Number of pages: 333
Summary: The thesis investigates which characteristics typicalmanufacturing simulators possess, and how the user requirementscan be fulfilled better. For the purpose of software evaluation,a case study has been carried out on a real manufacturing system.Several simulation models of an automated system forelectrostatic powder coating have been developed using differentsimulators. A comprehensive evaluation framework has beendeveloped to facilitate selection of simulation software formodelling manufacturing systems. Different hierarchies ofevaluation criteria have been established for different softwarepurposes. A survey has been conducted involving a number of usersof software for manufacturing simulation. A methodology forsimulation software selection was derived, and propsals on howmanufactoring simulators can be improved are made, both foreducation and for industry.
