Summary: The project deals with the realization problems of
distributed, modular systems for monitoring and control in the field of
watering systems, environment protection, industrial plants and processes,
etc. Systems and devices that are the subject of the research must satisfy
complex functional demands, as well as very strong conditions relating the
reliability and energy consumption. Significant part of the research is
dedicated to the methodology of testing the reliability and to the
realization of the testing and calibrating procedures.
Research goals: The project deals with the realization problems of
distributed, modular systems for monitoring and control in the field of
watering systems, environment protection, industrial plants and processes,
etc. Systems and devices that are the subject of the research must satisfy
complex functional demands, as well as very strong conditions relating the
reliability and energy consumption. Significant part of the research is
dedicated to the methodology of testing the reliability and to the
realization of the testing and calibrating procedures. A complex fire
detection and control system is developed. The system is realized, and
manufactured for the use in the fire alarm monitoring and control of
buildings and ships. For the process industry applications, a laboratory
version of the distributed system for heat processing of metal surfaces is
developed, and some of its components are already in use. A part of the
research dedicated to the methodology of simulation, testing and
calibration procedures resulted with the development of a simulator of the
control system for special purposes important for development and servicing
of mentioned distributed systems. One concept of the special purpose
microcontroller which can be used for applications in distributed systems
is worked out. A number of system components and devices are developed and
realized with a special attention dedicated to their reliability. Other information about the project.
