    Summary: Problems concerning of codes metal and operational structurescalculation have been considered on the basis of the anticipatedfatigue life. Hypothesis of the linear fatigue damageaccumulation is used as theoretical basis. Possibility ofcontinuous operational group division is given, compared withdivision of ISO and DIN. Parallel analysis of various fatiguelife calculation methods has been realized for the purpose ofstress which is greater then fatigue strenght.

    Summary: Linkages are either a constituent or basic part of nearly all transport devices. The development of the new constructions of such devices is primarily based on the innovations in mechanisms synthesis. This parallelly requires a comprehensive kinematics and dynamic analysis. The first part of the paper comprises the systematic structure based mechanism grouping with the aim to optimise the preliminary activities for mechanism analysis. The second part of the paper deals with the development of mechanism analysis programs. The programs possibilities as well as the analysed examples are adjusted to the construction of the transport devices mechanisms.
