Summary: The primary tasks of occupational medicine are the preservationof human health and human capacity for a full performance. Theposture at work as well as working environments are importantfactors from both mechanical and medical points of view. Informing biomechanical model the segment mass moments of thesubjects and their centres were determined by means ofDonskij's and Zatsciorskij's method based on Rudan'santhropological data, supported by a harmonic method ofdistribution developed by Muftić. The mass moments determinationof human segments are divided into two categories: internal andexternal mass moments. From the biomechanical point of view foundin recent literature the strains at work captured in differentcharacteristic working positions are not thoroughly andadequately recognized.

Summary: Strain and nonergonomical postures that a worker takes during hiswork effect his safety thus represent an injure hazard andpermanent damage of the worker's organism. Intraabdominalpressure is used as a method for the judging of the biomechanicalstrain. Two - dimensional models in the sagital plane were usedfor the research, while in an assymmetrical posture of the workerin the space with the help of the three - dimensional models insagital and frontal plane. The intraabdominal pressure isconnected with the lumbal moment. With the two - dimensionalmodel reduction of the worker's strain is achived by introducinga more suitable direction of the resulting force in relation tothe critical lumbosacral crossection. With the three -dimensional models it is necessary to pay attention to theselection of the coordinate systems for the left and rightshoulder ring to avoid reduction of the moments, and thus thereduction of the total lumbal moment so that the calculatedintraabdominal pressure would be lower than the actual pressure.

Summary: The dynamic analysis method of the rotational part of human body airborne movement has been proposed. The method provides a possibility of evaluation of the biomechanical model simulation characteristics if such a model serves as a basis for the simulation procedure of human body airborne movement. It is based on the comparison of the calculated orientation parameters of the biomechanical model referent segment with their measured values. The dynamic analysis of the jump and the evaluation of the constructed biomechanical model simulation characteristics have been performed as an example of the described method application.

Summary: People mostly take nonsimetrical postures in space, andnonsimetrical loadings act on them. Therefore it is necessary toanalyse loading on three-dimensional models-in sagittal andfrontal plane. When space loading is acting, moments of externalforces could be mutual by annuled, thus the total lumbar momentand intra-abdominal pressure as an index of strain requires thedetermination of finite relation among the posture of a body inspace, external space loading and the change of intra-abdominalpressure.

Summary: In everyday design practice of air-conditioning devices ergonomiccižonditions are defined on the approximate values of the airrate changes, values of temperatures and relativehumidity.Obviously, the values of mentioned variables are themean values determined on the long term design practuce of the ACsystems. On the other hand, the ergonomical conditions, coming outfrom the "Man-Machine-Environment" System (MMES) must have theenvironmental values as the function of the whole MME system. In this work we tried to define some of the requests which couldbe of reference to the multilateral influences between the MMEsystem elements. Predominantly, the environmental systemconditions were considered in connection with human effortmeasurements depending on different kinds of work.

    Held: from 09/14/94 to 09/17/94
Summary: Many kinds of ergonomical or biomechanical analysis usually start with the formation of the biomechanical model of the human body. Thatsway a simple method is developed of the human body figure drawing and determining of the value of the abdominal cross section. Definitions of the human body segments, as well as dimensions of the cross section of abdomen, then the centres of gravity are determined by using the harmonic circle and the canon of the eight head length. The paper deals with the simple method for estimating of abdominal resultant force for males as well for females depending on their age and individual distribution of the antropomeasures. Recorded forces are very good tool for future study of modelling the biomechanical models in work analysis. Results stipulated by this method are compared with the usual standard measures, giving very good correspodence.

Summary: A method for determining the angular momentum of the human body about its mass center for general three-dimensional movements is presented. The body is modelled as an 11 segment multirigid body system with 22 rotational degrees of freedom. The human body movement is filmed with ELITE motion analyser. The angular velocity vector of upper and lower trunk part was determined by calculation of eigenvalues and eigenvectors of segment rotation matrix. The results are examined by means of integration of segment orientation differential equations system. The standard deviation of vectorally summed three angular momentum components is estimated to be 20% of the total angular momentum.

Summary: By the application of the fundamental methods of mechanics, harmonical analysis, anthropometrics, statistics and biomechanicsa new model of the shoulder girdle has been established, whichexcludes the isolation of the shoulder joint as an idependentkinematical unit in the kinematical chain of the human arm. Theautor has found that from the mechanical viewpoint the shouldergirdle should bee considered to make a whole beginning in thesternoclavicular joint. She has also established an until nowunreported set of data relating to the oblique position of theclavicle, which is anthropometrically separately disscussed. Inthis way a new biomechanical model of the shoulder girdle hasbeen created, which provides a basis for further biometricalresearch, with special reference to so called dynamicalanthropometry.

Summary: In this work the analyses of existing anthropomeasures of ourpopulation have been performed and compared to results determinedby our measuring. Besides that, characteristic anthropomeasuresof some other population have also been presented to showexisting differences. Definitions and connections of static anddynamic anthropomeasures are also analyzes, and they representthe basis of the calculation of data in automatized procedure ofsubjects in motion. Cosequently, the metod of automatizedanthropomeasuring has been established. Based upon this methodand by means of computer measuring system - ELITE, by recordingmarked subjects in the system of infrared cameras (IC),3D-coordinates of marked points, as well as the length betweenparticular markers have been determined. 3D-coordinates andlenghts of particular segments that have been measured are theinput data for calculation of dynamical anthropomeasures, as forinstances dynamic moments of inertia. Measuring has beenperformed on 120 men. Measured and calculated values are inaccordance with existing data. The results determined by theautomatized method of anthropomeasuring are very precise, and thereason for mistakes could be only in putting the markers on thewrong places of the subject.

    Number of pages: 103
Summary: In this work has been established an automatised method for anthropomeasuring. Due to this method, besides static anthropomeasures, dynamic anthropomeasures, i.e. central dynamic moments of body segments inertia and central dynamic moments of the inertia of the whole body, have been directly calculated. The method has been established for measuring female subjects. A biomechanical model of female body has been determined. For description of inertial properties the body has been modelled using 16 geometric solids. The measuring procedure comprises recording of the marked female subjects aided by measuring system ELITE. 3D coordinates of the marked points are the input data for calculating static and dynamic anthropomeasures using the program written in MATLAB. When analyzing human motion this method permits the calculation of the whole body mass centre as well as its central dynamic moments of inertia for every body posture during the movement. Measuring has been performed on 120 women of our population. The obtained results of static and dynamic anthropomeasures have been statistically analyzed and divided into five percentile groups. The functional relations between the central dynamic moments of body segments inertia and percentile distributions have also been established.

Title: Determination of dynamic characteristics changes of human body model in three-dimensional movement
    Faculty: STROJARSTVA I BRODOGRADNJE Zagreb
    Author: TERZE ZDRAVKO
    Date of defense: 12/14/94
    Language: hrvatski
    Number of pages: 112
Summary: This work considers the problem of human body orientation in the gravitational field of weight force, as the only force acting on the body motion. Starting from the hypothesis that while studying human body gross motion, non-rigidity of body segments can be neglected, a biomechanical model has been constructed, as 11 segments multyrigid-body system with 22 rotational degrees of freedom. The segmental inertial characteristics are determined by modelling human body segments using geometric solids specified by anthropometric measurements. The density values used in the inertia model have been taken from the studies done by Donski and Zatsiorsky. According to the so constructed biomechanical model, equations of motion have been developed, on the basis of which the simulation procedure of human body rotation movement under specified conditions can be performed. Since the system of differential equations derived from the above equations of motion is undertermined, the additional information should be obtained by measuring. In order to estimate the accuracy of such a simulation procedure, dynamic analysis of sport jump, based on the same biomechanical model, has been performed. The movement has been recorded by an ELITE motion analyser using two cameras. The measuring results include trajectories and velocities of characteristic body points as well as representations of the changes in body configuration. These results have been used to calculate the trajectory of the body mass centre, the changes of body dynamic moments of inertia, Euler angles of system reference segment (upper trunk) and reference segment angular velocity. The fact that time changes of the reference segment Euler angles, obtained also by the integration of differential equations system, agree very well with the measured values, shows that the described simulation procedure can be successfully applied to the study of similar human body motions.
