Summary: Introduction of FMS in production engineering of Croatia will create a conditions for development and use of CIM-concept. The firm (company) functions would be controlled by computer. The Croatian firms in production engineering would became modern and able to follow fast marketing changes. They would became competitive on world market and they production would increase, creating the base for further development and better quality of living.

Research goals: The objectives of project is to build modern production and to lift it up on higher level. That would enable faster development of CIM concept, and croatian production engineering would became capable for long-term competence on the world market. The objective is also to get all the necessary knowledge, theoretical and practical, for designing and controlling of flexible manufacturing systems, to be able to offer a efficient solutions to individual companies. That would make croatian industry modern and capable to cooperate with world market. Investigation that can support this objectives have to be permanent in order to get and keep a position on world market in a daily changing environment.
