Summary: The project brings forth a proposal for the organisation and structuring of the state office for the safety of navigation and protection of the sea environment in the Republic of Croatia. On the basis of an analysis of the activities related to the safety of navigation, protection of the sea and coastal areas, while taking into account the high complexity and volume of such activities, a proposal has been made for the establishment of an integrated organisation to be in charge of all the aforementioned activities, which today are divided among a number of subjects. The proposal aims at a higher level of safety of navigation and an elevated protection of the sea environment.
