Title: PASSENGER HIGH SPEED CRAFT FOR ADRIATIC SEA

    Authors:
    Bosnić, Ante (57382)
    Vukičević, Marijan (77033)
Journal: ZBORNIK RADOVA FAKULTETA STROJARSTVA I BRODOGRADNJE SVEUČILIŠTA U ZAGREBU
    Volume: 16
    Year: 1992
    Pages: from 223 to 234
    Number of references: 26
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: The conclusion is derived from analysis of passenger and ferries fleet in Croatian part of Adriatic sea summarized in paper (Ref.1) about today techical particulars of respective fleet. From the same analysis there are taken over the forecast required indispensable modernisation of the same fleet. For our specific condition it is necessary to divide the white fleet according: sealing distances, desired speeds and to passenger only and passenger and cars ships. This work is concerned only to smaller high speed passenger ships. The evolution of high speed passeneger ships in recent years all over the world was analysed with objective to detect the most favourable type of hull form for specific our conditions concerning ship's building and ship's exploitation characteristics.

    Held: from 10/22/92 to 10/24/92
Summary: The design request is taken over from article dealing with the design requests for passenger ships and ferries intended for the Adriatic coast operation. Conclusions of high unconventional passenger ship analysis for the Adriatic sea are commented. The short description of preliminary design with enclosed part of documentation and accompainying commentary are presented.

Title: PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF SWATH SHIP, 2. PREDICTION OF HYDRODINAMIC CHARACTERISTICS IN DESIGN PROCEDURE FOR SWATH SHIP

    Authors:
    Čuvalo, Milan (139170)
    Ljubetić, Marijan (150690)
Proceedings title: X Simpozij, Teorija i praksa brodogradnje in memoriam prof. Leopold Sorta
    Language: hrvatski
    Place: Opatija
    Year: 1992
    Pages: from 16 to 28
Meeting: X Simpozij Teorija i praksa brodogradnje in memoriam prof. Leopold Sorta
    Held: from 10/22/92 to 10/24/92
Summary: A procedure for hydrodinamic characteristic prediction in early stage of the design process of small water plane area twin hullship (SWATH) is presented. The design system consists of the following module: form generation with mathematically faired and hydrostatic computations; ship resistance in calm water;propulsion; seakeeping and optimization. Only a part of the system is developed (form generation, resistance and propulsion). The possibility of form optimization regrading ship resistance or power and seakeeping performace is analysed. A proposition of model tests in basin, in order to confirm or to correct analytically computed results, is presented too.

Title: MANAGEMENT OF MODERN SHIP DESIGN

    Authors:
    Bosnić, Ante (57382)
    Proceedings title: VII Simpozij IMAM-'95.
    Language: engleski
    Place: Dubrovnik
    Year: 1995
    ISBN/ISSN: 953-6017-02-4
    Pages: from 212 to 217
    Meeting: VII Simpozij IMAM
    Held: from 04/23/95 to 04/27/95
Summary: The field of modern ship design is too large to be described in proper and realistic perspective. It is, therefore, of some interest to provide an introductory review of the current state of the art in this expanding and important profession. The modern ship design is competitive by its price and terms of building. To shift from today's classical ship design to modern design procedure it is essential to fill up deficiencies in design documentation by building up and applying the new modern remedy. The modern design remedy is dependent on the work and success of classification societies, hydrodynamics institutions, manufacturers of machinery, arrangements, automation and of defining international and national statute and rules. The modern ship design procedure requires adoption and development of proper computer program, using office equipment and office management adapted to the present condition. It is concluded that the ship design should urgently shift from classical procedure to the modern one. Defining the differences between classical and modern procedure in ship design is not very precise, but it is possible to describe the modern procedure in some details.

    Title: INTERACTIVE SHIP DESIGN METHOD

    Authors:
    Pintek, Davor
    Slapničar, Vedran (900605)
    Jazvić, Marija (900606)
    Proceedings title: IMAM-'95.
    Language: engleski
    Place: Dubrovnik
    Year: 1995
    ISBN/ISSN: 953-6017-02-4
    Pages: from 241 to 251
    Meeting: VII Simpozij IMAM
    Held: from 04/23/95 to 04/27/95
Summary: The main purpose of this work is to give the overview of our proposal for system which enables a designer the use of suitable tools in ship design with emphasis on early stage of design process. the system must be able to provide easy upgrade with new modules and designer's intervention in each step of design process. The use of artificial intelligence possible design solutions and to control algorithmic aspests of the design process. Optimization of the ship will be performed to meet requirements of the ship owner and the ship builder. The system should contain all data and information necessary to support the complete life-cycle of the ship i.e. marketing, design, manufecturing, operation and maintenance. The first phase of the system development includes design and implementation of database prototype, shell of the complete system and adoption of already existing programs. The database will contain geometric and nongeometric data necessary to fully describe the complete ship. We assume that proposed design method will be valuated as development of the system goes forward.
