Summary: The transport of passengers and cars along the Adriatic
littoral has to be based on the present short-term plans for the fleet
development. Technical solutions existing in the world as well as their
standardization and evaluation have to be adjusted to our conditions. The
design request will be achieved using modern methods for procedure
organization, by defining desirable variations of passenger ships and car
ferries. With existing modern procedures to evaluate the preliminary
design to make the reviewing of the ship's preliminary design technically
and economically. The ship design solutions will be given priority in the
report of short-term plans of the passenger and car ferry fleet. The
short-term report has to be supplemented by the long-term report for
ship's preliminary design from the priority list.
Keywords: Management of Marine Design, High speed passenger craft, Ferry-boat
Research goals: The short-term and long-term plans in view of the
definition of passenger and ferry-boat fleet will be supported by the
definition of the optimal preliminary design solutions. The design request
definition will be based on the modern management of ship design. From the
design request analysis and corresponding agreed parameters, the
preliminary design of two ship types will be developed, (for agreed
capacity of passenger, cars and lorries). The preliminary design variants
will be made according to the modern international building solutions. The
appropriate scientific methods for corresponding ship types, capacity and
speed will be used for the optimal domestic solution. The aim of the
proposed research is to develop optimal ship design with adequate data,
and these data will be used to plan the building and modernising of our
Adriatic coast fleet. Other information about the project.
