    Summary: The paper initially briefly discusses certain problems related tothe static and dynamic analyses of dams, which significantlyinfluence the results. Also presented is the previously developedand later enhanced model for the static and dynamic analysis ofconcrete gravitation dams. Closing of cracks in concrete/soil,flow, nonlinear behaviour of reinforcement, as well as cavitationin water are modelled. The application of the model is illustrated on the static and dynamic analysis of Koyna Dam.

    Summary: A model for the design of general composite cross sections loadedwith excentrical longitudinal force is presented. The analysiscomprises stress/strain condition, determination of boundary loadbearing capacity, and determination of area of reinforcement forshort-term loading. Model's applicability in the analysis ofconcrete cross section reinforced with unstressed and prestressedtendons, as well as with stiff steel, is briefly described.Examples ilustrate certain posible applications of the model andnumerical program.

    Summary: Results obtained by testing concrete girders strengthened eith glue steel flanges are presented. Two girder types were tested: one where failure is mostly due to bending and the other where failure is most often caused by shearing action. In the first case, poorly reinforced beams, with bottom part strengthened by glued steel flanges, were tested. In second case, the testing involved even les reinforced beams strengthened by glued steel flanges in the area of high transverse forces. Strengthened and non-strengthened girders were analyzed, and appropriated conclusions were made.

    Summary: The disgn procedure for determining working stresses of rectangular reinforced-concrete sections, including the influence of concrete creep, is presented. The procedure is based on the linear relationship between stress and strain for concrete and steel (without tensile strength of concrete) and on the linear theory of creep. Tables for practical use have been developed on the basis of this procedure. These tables may be use to control stress on the 'T' section if the neutral axis remains in the compresion slab.

    Summary: The paper presents a general procedure for the dimensioning of composite cross-sections under eccentric longitudinal force. The cross-sections can have an arbitrary form, can be made of various materials, and formed during several stages. The calculation includes the stress-strain analysis, the ultimate bearing capacity determination, and the identification of the required area of the bar reinforcement. It also presents a brief description of the possibility of applying the model to the dimensioning of concrete cross-sections reinforced by unstressed bars, prestressed tendons, and rigid steel. The solution of one practical example illustrates the possibility of the model application.

    Summary: Some aspects of computing of reinforced concrete structures forthe purpose of caring capacity and serviceability limit statesare at first shortly discussed in the paper. The behavior of theconcrete in tension is briefly analyzed, and then the influenceof tensile concrete resistance on the stress-strain state andstiffenss of some classical reinforced rectangular cross-section,loaded by pure bending moment, are numerically investigated.
