Summary: The general principles of designing town traffic areas are in theexisting literature and prescriptions limited on the connectionbetween vehicles and their speed on one side and the designingelements on the other side. Other factors as geology, morphology, climate, urban inheritance etc. are not included. Here are thespecialities of the Rijeka region analized from the point of viewof designing are modified and complemented in accordance with thedemand of the specific urban and other circumstances of theRijeka region.

Summary: The paper proposes that the current traffic-planning rationalefor the highway network in the Rijeka area be modified.Historical development and the present state of the road networkare described, as well as the planned construction of highwaysfrom the aspects of space and construction time. The proposal tomodify the planning basis is backed ny factors of influenceresulting from changed economic and political circumstances. Theneed to relieve the urban street network of heavy traffic in thebelt between the harbour and the state road network is stressed.

    Title: NOISE AND HIGHWAY

    Authors:
    Brozović, Ivo (5764)
    Editors
    Kos, Zorko
Proceedings title: Zbornik radova Građevinskog fakulteta u Rijeci, sv IX
    Language: hrvatski
    Place: Rijeka
    Pages: from 127 to 141
    Meeting: Građevinski fakultet, Rijeka
    Held: from 06/15/92 to 06/15/93
Summary: The parameters of sound emission of planned highway section havebeen analyzed in the paper and the way of determiningequivavalent emissive values has been suggested. After that, inaccordance with the laws of sound expansion, the correspondinginfluences have been discussed with the view of determining thestandard equivalent respective sound values. In accordance withthe allowable values of equivalent sound reception for areas of aspecific purpose (above these values it is a question ofdisturbing level or noise), the way of determining the locationand height if protective structures has been proposed: walls andenbankments for he protection against noise - which providesufficient protection required by law.

Title: MODEL FOR EVALUATING THE ECOLOGICAL SUITABILITY OF A ROAD

    Authors:
    Brozović, Ivo (5764)
    Editors

Proceedings title: Zbornik radova Građevinskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Rijeci, sv IX
    Language: hrvatski
    Place: Rijeka
    Pages: from 141 to 151
    Meeting: Građevinski fakultet, Rijeka
    Held: from 06/15/92 to 06/15/93
Summary: The task of finding out an ecolgically more suitable planning ordesigning alternative to road transportation route has been setin this paper. The characteristics of the available methods andthe possibilities of applying them for this purpose have beendiscussed. It has been found that the multicriterional analysisin a limited sense is the most suitable one, namely the one bywhich the different influences on the environment can be broughtunder the common denominator. In view of that a model has beenset for getting partial benefits or levels of fulfilling the setcriteria, using the actual data about terrain (the dominantpurpose of surface, influence structures) as well as thenormative or suggested values (pollution or interference limits).

Title: CORDINATION OF RAILWAY AND ROAD PASSENGER TRANSPORT

    Authors:
    Kožar, Petar (23064)
    Editors

Proceedings title: Zbornik radova Građevinskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Rijeci, sv IX
    Language: hrvatski
    Place: Rijeka
    Pages: from 169 to 181
    Meeting: Građevinski fakultet, Rijeka
    Held: from 06/15/92 to 06/15/93
Summary: This paper deals with passenger transit form a railway transportsystem to local transportation facilities. On a long-distancereturn travel passengers have to transfer four times. Transfer isthe worst stage of the journey because it has to be done on footand therefore it needs special attention. Waiting for an urbanride has to be taken into account when summing up to totaltreveling time to cut down this time, as many vehicles ascomputer program simulating the work of both local andlong-distance transportation facilities is presented in thispaper. A general computed example has been presented by means ofgraphs, which can be used in practice to achieve optimumcoordination between railway and road traffic system.
Keywords: passenger, railway, town traffic, traffic system, cordination

Title: OPTIMIZATION OF GRADE LEVEL BY THE LEAST SQUARED METHOD

    Authors:
    Domandžić, Dražen (10236)

    Pages: from 163 to 169
    Meeting: Građevinski fakultet, Rijeka
    Held: from 06/15/92 to 06/15/93
Summary: This paper is concise survey of the researches carried out inoptimizing the grade level by the least squares method. A newapproach in modeling, optimizing and solving a mathematical modelhas been showen. An optimum corridor, synthesized from straightlines, circles and cubic parabolas is obtained by the methoddescribed, in which the grid points have been fixed in advance. That corridor is a guarantee of the most rational route tofollow. Mathematical modeling reduce the total costs snd the route becomes gentler and more natural.

Summary: The current state of the road and highway network in the Rijekaarea is presented. The significance of Rijeka as a major roadtransport junction is explained. The geopolitical situation aftergaining independence requires general increase in the roadconstruction. The road problem in Rijeka is particulary acute asthe key transport structure had not been constructed in theprewar period. It is stressed that the Rijeka traffic junction isof cruical importance as the Croatian economy is oriented towardsmaritime activities, transport and tourism.
