Summary: The manifold positive action of a ventilated air layer
behind the exterior coating of high impermeability is analysed. Besides
acting as a favourable mechanical protection of interior layers, it also
enables: successful solution of diffusion processes, upgrading of
thermo-accumulative properties, reduction of the impact of temperature
changes on deformationa of the structural part of the exterior wall cross
section. The author has shown that the effects of individual factors are
independent, and each of them is subject to constraints related mostly to
structural, technical and economic parameters. Substantial possibilities of
achieving a favourable solution compared to eventual specific limitations
are pointed out.
