Title: Architecture of Baroque Theatres in Croatia

Summary: By the beginning ot the 17th century in Europe and also in
Croatia a new type of public building appeared - that of the public
theatre. Derived from the Renaissance type - converted halls - the
architecture of the Baroque theatre building in Croatia was based on a
number of social, theatrical and architectural demands. Individual examples
were analysed and reconstructed relyng on the experience todate, and
general characteristics of the baroque theatre building were defined.
