    Year: 1991
    Pages: from 1 to 5
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: The wear of the image areas (photosensitive layer) on positive working offset plates was investigated by measuring the impedance. Measurements were conducted in the frequency range between 100 and 20.000 Hz, on samples from which 0 to 80.000 copies were printed successively. The applied method proved very sensitive, indicating early degradation of image areas. The obtained results show dependence on frequency and number of copies, indicating the decrease in thickness of the layer. On such base a model of image areas wear has been proposed, which cause changes in their physical and chemical properties.

Summary: Offset printing plates are during the print exposed to wear. The following methods were applied for their examination: determination of photosensitive layer thickness by microscope focusing, determination of breakdown voltage, determination of surface roughness by profilogramme and determination of photolayer porosity by a chemical method. Specimens of offset printing plates, from which from 0 up to 80.000 copies were printed, have been tested in this way. The applied methods give a possibility of versatile insight in the state of image areas during the printing.

Summary: Testing for the determination of the printing ink and the paper for printing the concrete graphic product primary has to point up to the optimal combination of the printing ink and the paper - the combination which results in prints of wanted quality and makes problems as less as possible during the printing process. On the contrary, there is not any standard or any recommendation for such determination. So, this article deals with such determination on the example of finding the optimal printing combination between 3 ink sets for colour printing of different producers (total 12 inks) and 5 different offset papers. The determination is based on the laboratory printing and testing.

Summary: A great number of papers has been dedicated to the investigation of the oxide layers on aluminium with great regard to the fact that the function of the metal are often determined by the oxide films. There is a tendency of theoretical explanation of the development and structure of the oxide films with the possibility of the application improvement. The researches performed in this article belong there. The investigation results show that the electrolyte concentration, the anodizing time and the current density have greater influence on the hydrophilic ability of the surface of the anodic film while the electrolyte temperature in the conditions of the experiments during anodic layer is considerably lower.

Summary: Contact angle between the solid and liquid phase is a significant criteria of wetting as a surface phenomenon. In investigations of properties of the offset printing plates it is an indication of the state of surface and its interaction with water dipoles and other molecules represented in the fountain solution. Wetting was investigated on two types of positive offset plates, with different screen tone values and concentrations of wetting agents in fountain solution. Obtained results are presented in anusual way, as Q-concentration dependence. Also, the wetting coefficient (Cw), as a new criterion has been introduced and discussed, for the reason of unambiguous interpretation of the results.

Summary: Quick reversal mechanisms are used for two reasons: first they shorten reversible engine running, which is useless, and increase the working speed of the machine, and second, with their unequal speed motions, they are used in the cases which require greater or smaller speed in the working cycles. In the cinematic plans, there are five mechanisms (joint quadrangle mechanism, sheet slowing down mechanism by unloading, driving mechanism of the feed board endless tapes, driving mechanism of the printing press bed "OHZ" and the coulisse mechanism). The first three mechanism are not quite reversible while theother two ones show complete characteristics of the quick reversibility.

Summary: The printers think and talk about chains very rarely. It has been known for the long time that the chains have been produced without any problems and in great quantities (big series) and that they work faultless. But the chains for offset speed masters for sheet printing are not so simply made aseg. the bicycle chains. Such chains are precise machine elements made by the very complicated process. The experts believe that greater attention and more interest by the printers should be paid to the chains, particularly to the maintaining and cleaning.

Summary: Several methods are existing in investigation of offset printing plates during the print run, and one of the direct methods is observing the change of roughness parameters. To obtain samples with different number of impressions, a printing form was made on presensitized aluminium plate APO-T,Cinkarna, Celje, with 7 full-tone image areas, that were subsequently cut off the plate. KOR Heidelberger AG offset printing machine was used for printing up to 80.000 impressions on Vevce-Multipak paper. Roughness was measured with electronic mechanical device with needle Hommel Werke Tester P-4. Four sufficient samples were used with 8 profilogrammes taken. Ra, Rz and Rmax parameters were observed, as well as number of HSC, spacing and depths off urrows. For the reason of more detailed comparison of weared surfaces, distribution of frequencies of the furrow spacing and depths was made and their two-dimensional division was defined. Changes in roughness parameters values have shown to be relevantto the wear of the offset printing plate during the print run.

Summary: Hardness, deformability and pressability were investigated in 40 samples of rubber blankets, as there are little literature references. Samples were sorted according to the technological requirements on conventional and compressible blankets and each group additionally on hard and semi-hard rubber blankets. Hardness was investigated by a hand Shore A hardness meter, deformability was measured by a hardness meter with a square shaped indentor (10x10 mm) at different burdening. It has been established that the hardness of a rubber blankets is in a range between 70 and 80 HS A, that deformability is lower for hard blankets than for semi-hard ones, while the value of pressability are the lowest for conventional hard blankets and the highest for the compressible semi-hard blankets. Investigation of the interdependence of mechanical properties and thickness of the surface rubber layer did not give some significant insight; using a larger number of samples and some other methods, more reliable results could be achieved.

Summary: This paper presents the testing of colour deviation in the samples of cyan and red within one edition, with the test - slide ICP - td 6164/84 printed. Spectrophotometric measurements have included the colour slide proof, the first, the thousandth and the two thousandth copy. The results were calculated in the CIELAB system units. The sequence of colour deviations is individual for cyan, as well as for red from the table. The second series of samples has been made with DuPont test wedge in the print run of 21.000 copies. In this case, as well, the cyan and red samples were selected, measured by the spectrophotometric relation to the light source D65/10. The colour deviations on the samples of cyan are small ones, visually unperceivable. The red samples show small changes in hue. With the increase of the print run, the value delta L* has become somewhat greater. It comes out, from the results of the modified colorimetric method shown graphically and in tables, that in conducting and controlling the reproduction process during the print run, the deviation of delta h, delta L* and delta C* values should be observed, while delta E* value does not give an insight in these changes.

Summary: Properties of electroactive organic molecules at surfaces can be characterised by purely electrochemical methodology. The redox potential and form of the signal in cyclic voltammetry carry the information on the interaction of molecule with the substrate (electrode) and between the molecules themselves for each redox state involved. The interaction of the MB+ molecules with the surface of Hg electrode is so strong that the redox signal if the inner monolayer is well separated from the signal of overlaying molecules. The oxidation in the multilayer film is fast and reversible, and occurs in a very narrow potential range, as it does for metallic phases. The electronic conductivity within the film is due to the formation of a MB+/LMB charge-transfer complex. The MB+ molecules are flat oriented in the inner monolayer and their lateral interactions are small. NO3- induces drastic changes in the organization of the inner monolayer. The phase transition during the redox change in the inner monolayer is analyzed for 2D electrocrystallization. The kinetics of the redox change fits the model for two-dimensional progressive nucleation and growth.

Summary: We present the results of spectroscopic studies of the high pressure K-Na-Cd-Ar discharge lamp. They were compared with the results of K-Hg-Ar discharge lamp. The interesting part of the spectrum was the region around the second resonance potassium line at 404.4 nm and 404.7 nm. There we observed a group of satellite bands which we attribute to the KCd excimertransitions. In the red part of the spectrum a broad KCd diffuse band was observed with peaks at 630 nm and 640 nm. From the comparison with the KHg system, we ascribe these bands to the 22pi - X2 sigma+ electronic transitions.

Summary: Logistics that has over the past decade characterized the menagement functions in economy and traffic gives an impulse to the introduction of new systems of communication in traffic. Distribution makes the principal basis of logistics, which then makes the broadest term in the transport-traffic-logistics structure. A logistic system can be regarded from a micro and a macro aspect. The optimization of distribution in container and multi-modal terminals refers to logistics. As an element of optimization at terminals, logistics is regarded within the scope of the transport system that makes the biggest constituent of logistic services. In order to define the optimum propositions of container and multi-modal terminals we start from traffic demand which we define by way of respective gravitation models based upon traffic flows and their intensity as converging on container terminals.

Summary: In mass production, for instance of diary products as milk, or sugar, or construction materials, etc., there appears the problem of optimum planning of transport of raw materials to the places of processing, and planning of transport of finished products to the places of demand i.g. marketing. Moreover, some additional actual proportions of this problem - optimum selection of locations of production capacities, and the stohastic character of individual parameters of the problem have been pointed out. For the resolution of the two-phase transport problem the author recommends the modified Charnes M - procedures. The procedure has also been shown of selection of optimum capacities in production centers from the given array of possible production potentials. The numerical example has been worked out and analyzed. Possible trends of future work on this problem have been referred to.

Summary: Logistic as a scientific discipline in its own right finds broad application in transport. Logistic operations can be observed from micro and macro aspect as distribution and production logistics. Optimization in a logistic approach to management can be materialized by way of functional connection of production, procurement, warehousing, transport and other segments of logistic functions. Different mathematical models as the matrix of intensity, network planning, critical path method and other, provide results in planning and programming of logistic services. The application of these models has been elaboreted in good scollection and distribution centers and container terminals.

Summary: Desk top publishing (DTP) image includes interpolation of the original image with less than 400 pixels per inch on more than 4000 pixels per inch. For metric images (Which require extraordinary accuracy) the choice of the interpolation is critical. In some cases the extrapolation method which already exists on computer for DTP, is not acceptable due to learn basic characteristics of interpolation methods for practical use, which have been introduced and explained in this paper. Monodimensional interpolation methods are presented in several versions with examples and critical explanations, referring to their use. Also, a review of some typical problems of twodimensional application at metric images is given.

Summary: Smooth curves and surfaces must be generated in many computer graphics applications. Many real-world objects are inherently smooth, and much of computer graphics involves modeling the real world. To create the object, the user may sculpt the object interactively, describe it mathematically, or give an approximate descripton to be "filled in" by some program. This paper introduces the general area of optimal curves and surfaces modeling. Represented are the Bezier curves.

Summary: Several polynuclear iron(III)-o-phthalates precipitated from acid and alkaline solutions were characterized by chemical and thermogravimetric analysis, and infrared, Mossbauer and magnetic measurements. Compounds prepared in acid solutions contain the trimer unit Fe3O and, although different in chemical composition and in thermal decomposition behaviour, show very similar IR, Mossbauer and magnetic characteristics. The variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements of these compounds were fitted to a theoretical expression derived from a spin Hamiltonian, taking into account two different exchange pathways along inequivalent sides of an isosceles triangle, yielding J12/cmČ(-1)=-35.4 and J13/cmČ(-1)=-21.1. The Mossbauer spectra of this group of samples could be satisfactorily fitted by considering the superposition of two quadrupole split doublets with different relative areas. Samples prepared in highly alkaline solution show a characteristic band in the infrared spectra at 890 cmČ(-1), assigned to the asymmetric Fe-O-Fe stretch. Their Mossbauer spectra taken in the temperature region 77-330 K reveal superparamagnetic behaviour of small particles of clusters. Magnetic susceptibility measurements of these polynuclear iron(III) species show Tmax/K=10 and 25, respectively. Zero field-cooled, field-cooled and torque measurements were used to prove their spin glass behaviour in the low temperature region.

Summary: Usage the fluidized bed of the inert particles in the processesof the electrochemical metal deposition show the increase of theproductivity and better quality of the metal coatings. The tests of electrochemical golding on eutectic Au-Si wereperformed in the citrate electrolyte (0.694 10-2 Mdm-3 KAu(CN)2 +0.22Mdm-3 C6H14N2O7), with the use of the glass small balls withthe diameter 0.5 - 0.63 mm, of the constant hydrodynamicconditions and various stream densities. The obtained golding were tested by optic SEM microscope. Thethickness of the golding was beta metrically measured. It is established through the characterization of the obtainedgoldings, that the goldings obtained from the fluidizied bed havesmaller crystal grain than the goldings obtained from the nonfluidized one. The fluidized bed enables the increase of thestream density for five times in relation to the process withoutthe fluidized bed, and the golding has satisfactory quality. Thebalance of energetic s satisfy the process.

Summary: Contact angle between solid and liquid phase is not only a goodindicator of wetting, but also of surface state and properties. This is very significant in offset printing which is functioningon selective wetting of two different types of surfaces. Contact angle was determined on two types of positivepresensibilized offset plates, using three differentconcentrations of the wetting agent and variable exposition of a10 halftone wedge. The results have shown that the electrogranulated aluminiumsurface gives lower values of contact angles, additionallydecreased by the higher concentration of the wetting agent. Thismeans better hidrophility during the printing process.

Summary: Electroplating from suspensions as a way of producing compositecoatings has already been described by the scientists from bothsides of Atlantic. The present work discusses the case of copper deposition fromsuitable bath with inclusion of inert and conductive particles aswell as the properties of obtained composites. Experiments were performed in cells with the agitation andpumping of the electrolyte suspensions. the influence of particlesize, their concentration in the electrolyte, current density onthe degree of codeposition was determined. The effect ofhydrodynamic conditions in the cell on the codeposition and masstransfer enhancement was also investigated. The quality of composite coatings surface was analysed as afunction of the kind and concentration of the particles embeddedin the metal matrix. It means, that the roughness, porosity, hardness and microhardness etc. were measured and correlated withparticles density in the deposit coatings. Beside this mechanical and electrical characteristics weredetermined and compared with adequate properties of coatingsobtained in the absence of the particles.

Summary: Colour is defined by help of the instrument by definite tone, saturation and brightness. The spectrophotometric measurementsare recommended for the graphic industry and the industries withsimilar technical principles. The ideal colour reproduction wouldshow through measurements that the aberration (deviation) intone, saturation and brightness did not occur. It is difficult toperform such reproduction because of various factors. Because allthree colour characteristics do not have the same influence onthe quality reproduction, the correctness of the tonereproduction has priority in comparison to the other ones. Theaberrations of definite colours are more obvious than of otherones. It is known that the bright colours are difficult toreproduce correctly, specially the colour of the blue sky, thecolour of the green leaves, the colour of the skin and neutralgrey. Because of all that the aberrations of the colorimetriccharacteristics of such colours have been investigated. Themeasuring results are presented in the system which is incorrection with the visual colour evaluation.

Summary: Properties of electroactive organic molecules at surfaces can becharacterized by purely electrochemical methodology as the redoxpotential and form of the signal carry the information on theinteraction of a molecule with the substrate and between themolecules themselves for each redox state involved. Chargecorresponding to the electrode redox reaction gives the exactmeasure of the surface concentration of the molecules. The role of anoions and phase transitions in the adsorbed layerof MD/LMB has been observed using fast perturbation techniques atthe mercury electrode. The phase transitions in the monolayer aremost conveniently analyzed by recording the current-timetransients after the appropriate potential step. Experimentalsignals are compared with the expected I-t response for theformation of monolayer by two-dimensional progressive andinstantious nucleation and growth. The growth of second layerinduces an additional phase transition accompanied by afractional charge transfer in the first monolayer.

Summary: The paper deals with the issue of an optimum location of production capacities of the set with an optimum plan of two-stage transport, transport of raw materials and finished products. The basic idea refers to the resolution of the established problem and similar problems and rests in substitution of the original problem with a less complex one. For this problem a series of plans is searched. This procedure is in the process until the criterion of optimum resolution is met and the optimum plan for the original problem is reached. The algorithm has been illustrated by way of a concrete numerical application.

Summary: Smooth curves and surfaces must be generated in many computer graphics applications. Many real-world objects are inherently smooth, and much of computer graphics involves modeling the real world. To create the object, the user may sculpt the object interactively, describe it mathematically, or give an approximate description to be "filled in" by some program. This paper introduces the general area of optimal curves and surfaces modeling. Represented are the Bezier curves.

In the presence of Tl+ ion was possible to achieve higher current density of gold deposition, but the current rise had no consequences to the grain size. The chemical composition of Au-Si eutectic alloy had no greater influence on the lectrochemical process thus the electrochemical deposition of gold was equal to that one on the pure gold background.

Summary: The gold deposition from the citrate electrolyte with and withoutaddition of catalyst on Au-Si alloys was investigated by themethod of cathode polarized rotating electrode. The alloys were obtained by steaming and alloying of gold on themonocrystals of the Si plates. Even a small quantity of catalystinto the electrolyte moves the potential of the gold depositiontowards more positive values. The composition and the structure of the Au-Si alloys haveconsiderable influence on the process of the gold deposition. Thecomposition and the structure of the alloys as well as theobtained gold deposit were studied by the AES and SEM analysis. The obtained electrochemical gold coatings on the Su - Si alloyssatisfy the determined conditions for the installation of thesilicion transistors on the metal bases.

Summary: We invesigated physical properties of some printing surfaces as a function of the water layers adsorbed on these surfaces. Measured quantities are stiffness and adhesion/cohesion forces on solid printing surfaces such as board. We obseved significant dependence of these quantities on the amount of adsorbed water. This dependence is different for longitudinal (MD) and for perpendicular (CD) orientation of fibres in the board. The results are indicating the rinite range in the amount of adsorbed water which is characterised by optimal physical properties of printing surfaces necessery for further processing in graphical production. We suggest possible mechanism for the water adsorption on printing surfaces dependent on relative humidity of environement and on the orientation of fibres

Summary: The application of the ergonomic principles is slowly andgradually used in industrial plants and projecting offices andthat is the direct contribution to better relation among a man, amachine and the environment. But nowhere in literature allrelations are described or studied, especially not those in theprinting industry, There are no evidence in literature aboutvalues of intraabdominal pressure of workers at different workingpostures in graphic industry. That is why we have tried tobroaden the analisys and to accompany it with contemporarymethods in which the biomechanical ergonomic analisys isspecially emphasized. Our investigation of the workers movements coverantropomeasurements by using the method for the determination amen's contour. The method has been based on the relations of theharmonious circle and the criterion of eight height of a head. The typical movements and position of the workers on a chosenworking places, during the work have been observed. That enabledus to estimate the difficulty of the work on these workingplaces. Based on these measurements and using the data about theconstruction of the machines, on which the observed workers haveworked, the discussion about the ergonomic position of theinvestigated systems has been performed. The decisions refer to the levels: theoretic analysis, additiolalanthrophomeasurements and the definition of the biomechanicalmodel of a man in connection with the difficulties of the work onthe observed working places and in consideration ofintraabdominal pressure.

Title: OPTIMISATION OF COLOUR REPRODUCIBILITY DIFFERENCES
Faculty: Fakultet kemijskog inženjerstva i tehnologije Sveučilište u Zagrebu
    Author: KNEŠAUREK NINA
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: Under the defined conditions, 24 samples which have been considered to be similar to the chosen standards, according to their chromatic characteristics, have been chosen by the visual method among 126 similar samples. The standard and all the tested (investigated) samples have been measured on the spectral photometer. The measured reflenctancies are calculated into numerical values of CIELAB. Based on the data obtained by the instrumental method, the developed differences of 24 visualy similar samples have been calculated and analysed. The limits of the visual judgement expressed as (delta)L, (delta)Hab*, (delta)Cab*, have been numerically defined. By analysing the calculated chromatic values of CIELAB and their chromatic influence in the visual estimation of the change of the expression of (delta)Eab* has be sugested, which all the developed colour differences define by one numerical data, by the expression (delta)L, (delta)Hab*, (delta)Cab*, which define the colour by three numerical values. In this way, the values, which are the cause of the developed differecies have been defined. The change of the hue has the greatest influence on the visual estimation. From the set of the quated expression in literature, the two ones have been chosen , which express the developed differencies numerically and visually more precise than the others. The visula estimation, instrumental measuring and choise of the expression for calculating the range of differencies of the chromatic values of the sample and the standard and the definition of the acceptable tolerances can be applied in each process where the colour reproducibility is reqired.

Summary: A montage of semiconductive components on metal basements in the electronic industry is of the great practical importance. For this purpose the process of electrochemical deposition of gold on the backside of silicium wafer consisting of Au-Si eutectic alloy has been developed. The process of electrochemical deposition of gold from citrate solutions containing thalium ions is studied on the rotaring disc electrode using cyclic voltametry method of polarization. Structure and morphology of gold coatings are determined by AES and SEM methods of analysis as well as the measurements of reflectancy. The results obtained by the cyclic voltametry method have shown that limiting current densities were not achieved in citrate solutions. The rotation speed od the electrode had no a significant influence on the gold deposition process. The mechanism of gold deposition was predominantly dependent on the electrolyte composition. In the citrate solution free from thalium the adsorption of Au(CN)- and CN- on the electrode surfaces was presumed resulting in the formation of Au(CN)ad species which afterwards reduced to Au0. In the citrate solution containing thalium ad adsorption of Tl+ ion on the surface was presumed at the potential of -750 mV/sce including his catalztic effect as an adatom. Simultaneously the presence of thalium in a citrate solution has shifts the deposition potential to the positive values diminishing the activation energy as well. The values of the activation energy indicated that an adsorption mechanism of gold deposition was predominating. Tafel line slopes have confirmed the electrochemical reaction occured in two steps. The reaction kinetics has changed in the presence of thalium. The reduction reaction of hydrogen had also a significant influence on the electrochemical deposition of gold. The influence of temperature on the deposition rate as well as on the morphology of gold deposits was also evident. Gold deposits were observed to be of bright yellow-gold colour and of small-size grain. In the presence of Tl+ ion was possible to achieve higher current density of gold deposition, but the current rise had no consequences to the grain size. The homogeneus structure of gold coating was confirmed by the reflectancy measurements. The chemical composition of Au-Si eutectic alloy had no greater influence on the lectrochemical process thus the electrochemical deposition of gold was equal to that one on the pure gold background.

Title: ELECTROCHEMICAL INVESTIGATION OF THE SYSTEM Al-ELECTROLYTE

Summary: Study of the phase boundary phenomena is of special interest on multiphase systems as it is Al/Oxide layer/Electrolyte. The term "oxide" is in this case considered as reaction products of aluminium with water, different in level of hydratation and morphologic forms. Corrosion rate, resp. transfer of aluminium to the solution, as well as the qualitative and quantitative aspects of interaction of the charged surface with water dipoles and species from the solution depend on number of factors. It can be assumed that in this pH of the electrolyte has significant role. Therefore, the basic aim of this work is consideration of the role and influence of pH on corrosion behaviour of the system Al-H2O. The examined system consited of aluminium in concact with a series of water solutions of electrolytes in the range of pH between 3 and 11, all of them with the equal content of Cl- ions and prevalently the same ionic strenght. Continuous potentiodynamic voltametry and determination of the concact angle on the phase boundary, were applied as the basic experimental methods, along with a number of supporting measurements. After numerical and theoretical processing, obtained results were treated individually and in mutual comparison. A comparative analysis with already known characteristics of the Al-H2O system was also applied, particulary with the diagrams of the electrochemical equilibria. Phenomenologic characteristics of the investigated system have already pointed to the specific influence of pH. In their consideration special attention has been paid to the role of surface charge and amphoteric dissotiation. In principle, the system was also discussed from the aspect of free entlapy changes on the phase boundaries. All the examined parameters have shown dependence of pH, however not, in the same terms and not as a regular function. Paralelism of certain functions was established, particulary in the range which - at pH 4.96 - corresponds with the maximum of the wetting curve and indicates the isoelectric point. All the considered results are showing characteristic changes, respective with the conditions and boundaries of forming the stable corrosion products as defined with pH diagrams, particulary of hydrargilite. From this point of view the influence of the surface charge was established as one of the key factors, determining behaviour of the system in electrolytes of different values as well as interactions occuring in the double layer. This influence shows to be particulary dominant in the range around the isoelectric point.
