Summary: Valid decision-making should be based on valid
arguments.Decision support system for health manager relies on dataretrived
from health care delivery system. Better the record,better the decision. A
module for data analysis consisting ofdata/variable selection, analysis of
quantitative and qualitativechanges in the system and interpretation and
explanation of theresults has been developed. As an example, comparisons
ofdiagnostic patterns of neurotic cases, control visits/firstvisits ratio,
referral patterns an preventive work of GP's teampattern, over three GP's
teams, have been presented. The module,produced by DBMS, has been installed
in the HC manager office.

Summary: The software for the coputerized record keeping in the
primaryhealth care in women has been developed and implemented. It
isdeveloped on the basis of the concept of the problem orientedmedical
records. The software designated to reflect an integralapproach to data
processing (medical and administrative data)comprises a distributed data
base, elements for quality assuranceindicators as well as the possibility
of the system developmenton the step-by-step basis.
The process of experimental implemantation and corrections basedon the
suggestions of the end users has been going on.

Summary: A system for data analysisfor the health care manager, as
amodule which can be attached to any health information system,has been
developed. The three basic principles were followed:user-friendly and
menu-driven approach, flexibility in selectingdata and defining indicators,
and calculation as well asestimation based on the statistical models for
changes. Cognitivemapping was used as the method for problem formulation
and SASsoftware for the system design.

Summary: An integral hospital information system of the
Leninsky-KuzneckyHospital, Kuzbas, Russia has been developed and
inplemented.
The system is designated as an integral automatically controlledinformation
system with a unique data base. Ince the system has amodular architecture,
it enables an independent operation ofseparate modules with their gradual
introduction into operation.
The system is developed to operate in a multi-user environmentunder UNIX
operative system, using INFORMIX relational data base.It is developed by
means of the latest programminf tools, such asINFORMIX 4GL and JAM-screen
generator.

Summary: An analytical module as a part of a decision support system
for a Health manager has been proposed. The guiding principle of the
concept is the analysis of changes. The prototype module consits of four
main processes: variables selection, analysis of qualitative and
quantitative changes in the system, interpretation and explanation of the
results and selection and implementation of improvement measures. It could
be applied in whatsoever type of health institutions.

Summary: The survey embraced the total population of persons died at
home int the Republic of craoatia in 1990. More than 30% of causes of death
for those who died at home have been recorded as unspecified or as
"general" ones as ICD-9: 428.9, 429.2, 429.9, 797.0,799.9. Old age as a
cause of death has been primarily recorded in te region of Lika, Hearth
arest in Karlovac region, Cardiovascular disease-unspecified in Bjelovar
and Rijeka region, Cardiovascular disease-undefined in Zagreb, Hrvatsko
zagorje and Varždin regions. Undefined conditions and diseases are ranked
as third or fourth, except in Lika region, where they are recorded as
second.
