Summary: Establisheng a new organoprotection concept, solving the Selyestress hypothesis. Investigation of the stress coping response inexperimental models, using different organoprotective substaces(such as dopamine agents and the new organoprotective agent BPC).The active pentadecapeptid BPC 157 from entire peptide BPC was identified, and applied in the models of different lesions of various organs.A strong beneficial activity was noted. Toxicological studies were unable to find out any negative effect. Currently, last preparations for clinical investigations are in progress.

Research goals: Folowing goals were stated. Firstly, establishement of the new hypothesis about active role of the stomach in the defense of the body, particularly in the stress, unlike common undcerstanding about the stomach as a only passive organ, without its own coping response; Secondly, the identification of putative mediator, peptid BPC, and its active fragment, named BPC 157; Thirdly,their application in the experimental models of different lesions of various organs closely mimicking corresponding human disturances, and finally, a suitable application in human therapy, as a new safe and powerfull drug.
