Summary: The aim of this research was to find out the factors which
harm early mother-child interaction, to evaluate the most effective method
for revealing such factors and to evaluate the efficacy of various
procedures of early intervention in the family stimulating the emotional
development of a child. The disturbances in early emotional mother-child
interaction were established by objective methods for the children "at
risk".Based upod the obtained data, a programme for the early intervention
in the family and for stimulating the development of the children "at
risk" will be made.
Keywords: mother-infant early interaction, mental development, attachment, prevention, early intervention
Research goals: The aim of this research was: evaluation of various
aspects of early mother-child interaction by using objective methods
(clinical psychiatric tests) to detect the disturbances in early
mother-child interaction, that could harm mental development of the child.
Further aims were: 1.To establish normal values of tests for our
population of healthy children, and the deviation from normal values for
some groups of children "at risk" (pre term born children, children of
depressive mothers or mothers who experienced war trauma, chlidren of
refugee and displaced mothers). We have made standards for IFEEL test;
standards for Ainsworth Strange Situation and Waters Q-Sort are to be
made; Parenting Stress Index is prepared for use. Some of the factors with
positive or negative influence on the attachment development have been
detected and also the possibilities of prevention are being determinated.
