Summary: By descriptive epidemiologic approaches establish the high risk zones for multiple sclerosis in Croatia, and by means of analytic epidemiologic methods identify the possible genetic predispositions and environmental provoking factors for multiple sclerosis in these areas. Begin with the collection of the MS cases for the investigation of multiple sclerosis in evolutive age in Croatia.

Research goals: Goals: to identify the high risk zones for multiple sclerosis inCroatia, possible genetic predispositions and environmental provoking factors for primary demyelination in these areas. Expected results: to clarify the influence of particular environmental factors on a specific genetic predisposition in the population of high risk zones for multiple sclerosis in Croatia.
