Summary: Observation of traffic trauma in the Republic of Croatia is performed according to the model of epydemiological observation, based on collecting of data on the traumatized participants in traffic and on the consequences of trauma suffering. The project includes the casualties died from the consequences of traffic accident. For each casualty there are being collected data on the type of road user, his sex, age, usage of seat belts, time of the traffic accident, time needed for arrival to hospital, acquired injuries, consequences of the injuries, time spent in hospital, types of diagnoses at admission and discharge from hospital. The data collected from particular institution, regionor the whole Republic are being compared to those collected worldwide. There are being proposed the mesasures for improvement of security, treatment, emergency medical service and recuperation.
