Summary: Psoriasis is a very often skin disease.Unfortunately, the disease has in most cases a lifelong course.According to some statistical analyses about 5% of all dermatologycal patients are suffering from some form of psoriasis. In view to the fact that the etiology of psoriasis is not satisfactory examined, causal treatment does not exist. However, some of succesfull methods of treatment which can result with a longer remission is the use of ultraviolet irradiation (PUVA, UVB).Although both,PUVA and UVB are giving a positive result (regulation of the epidermopoesis), it is necessary to answer the following questios:1.for how long is it possible to use these methods of therapy; 2.can the above mentioned methods of treatment cause the skin precanceroses, carcinomas as well as malignant melanomas; and 3.how the above mentioned methods of treatment can normalise a process of keratinisation. To find the answers to these questions, about 60 patients suffering from psoriasis, as well as 5 healthy persons (volunteers -control group ) will be examined.

Keywords: Psoriasis, epidermal atypias, skin neoplasmas, histology, immunopathology, electron microscopy, PUVA, UVB.

Research goals: The purpose of this work is an attempt to answer the following questions;1.for how long is it possible to use these methods of therapy; 2.can the abowe mentioned methods of treatment cause the skin precanceroses, carcinomas, as well as malignant melanomas, and 3.how the above mentioned methods can normalise a process of keratinisation?
