Summary: Anxiety is the following phenomenon of every stress
situation.
Treatment by bone marrow transplantation is favourable for the
development of anxiety with their uncertainly issue and painful therapeutic
treatment (citostatic therapy, irradiation, placing of cava catheter act.).
The investigation includes 31 patients who was ill from acute leukaemia and
who are treated by allogenic bone marrow transplantation.
This investigation measured the level of anxiety as a state and as a trait
by Spilbergers Stait-Trait Anxiety Inventory during the stay in the sterile
unit.
The results of investigation are viewed concerning sex, diagnosis
(AML,ALL), Graft versus host disease and issue of the therapy. The results
showing the statistical significant difference between anxiety of the
patients who survived the treatment and patients who died during the
treatment also with patient who got GvHD.
