Summary: Methods of circulatory and respiratory support can be used in circumstances of inadequate heart function. The most common indication for support application is weakness of heart or postcardiectomy low output syndrome after open heart operation or weaknes of heart in patients prepared for cardiac transplantation. From the begining of project 1387 patient underwent complete cardiosurgical treatment including diagnostic and operation procedure on the open heart with cardiopulmonary bypass providing with machine for extracorporeal circulation and oxigenation.

Research goals: Improoving of metods in patients which need mechanical support of circulation and respiration during operation on the open heart or in pre- or post- operation time. Improoving will be visible on the decreased mortality, decreased number of complications, shorter hospitalisation period, improoving of ejection fraction of the heart after hospitalisation.
