Sažetak: The concentrations of total serum IgA and IgG of patients
with primary malignant tumors were measured. The values were obtained by
the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sera from 267 patients and
58 control subjects were examined. The results were statistically evaluated
Kruskal-Wallis test. Total serum IgA concentrations were increased by about
30% to 40% in patients with primary malignant tumors in the nasopharingeal
and gastrointestinal regions, lung, mammae and skin melanoma. The total
serum IgG was not significantly increased. On the basis of our results and
literature data we have found that an increase of specific SCIgA and IgG
can be expressed as an increase in total serum IgA and total serum IgG. We
consder that an increase in serum IgA and the relation of increase IgA)IgG,
in addition to other clinicaly parameters, could be one of the signs of
early stages of a malignant process, as well as of the immunological status
of patients.
