Summary: There will be investigated the immunogenicity for chicken
of vaccine strains of viruses of infectious bronchitis (IB), Newcastle
disease (ND), Infectious bursal disease (IBD) and HVT FC-126 of Marek*s
disease (MD) virus, administered in form of spray of very small particles,
not bigger than 7 mikrons. As a difference from classic ways of spraying,
proposed procedure enables the vaccine virus to enter tracheolar canals and
air sacs that enormously increase the respiratory resorptive surface.
Therefore the expected achieved immunity should be higher and its
appearance much earlier in comparison to any other way of administration.
While in the immunoprophylaxis of IB, ND and IBD the spring of viral
suspension is in commune use, but entirely different from proposed in this
investigation, the use of spray of MD vaccines till now remain
unsuccsessful. Newertheless it was always used the spray of bigger
particles and not so small as it is here proposed. Very small particle of
the vaccine virus suspension, produced by use of ultra sound nebulizer that
increase the titre of the virus and special from the virus is protected to
be used resuspended in sterile distilled water, are the bases of believing
on success of proposed investigation.

Research goals: The goal of the investigation is to induce the best
possible specific immunoprotection against most dangerous diseases in
poultry (chicken is used as a model) threaten the poultry production in
Croatia. These diseases are Newcastle disease (ND), infectious bursal
disease (IBD), infectious bronchitis (IB) and Marek*s disease (MD). The
first three of them can be controlled by use spray of vaccine viruses,
while MD is controlled by parenteral vaccination (s/c or i/m). Beside
already achieved experiences about controlling ND by use of very fine
particle of vaccinal virus suspension, for other three mentioned diseases
there are strong indication that fine spray of less than 7 microns particle
diameter can be used to stimulate high immune response. If this presumption
shows justified, and there are many reasons to believe it because all
mentioned diseases are transmitted as respiratory infections, the proposed
mode of vaccination should unable the vaccination of day old poultry
immediately after being hatched i.e. in the hatchery. It is certainly
before hatched poultry is exposed to different pathogenes. In case of MD it
is an entirely new and manifold better mode of immunoprotection.
Vaccination of fattening chickens against MD could become a routine
practice which, according to past experience of parenteral use of HVT
FC-126, can bring to better results in production up to 20%.
