   Title: Survey and evaluation of Oblačinska sour cherry types for further selection

   Summary: On completion of survey taking in two large orchards in Croatia,selected trees were studied over a two-year period for fruitproperties, pollen germination capacity, and degree ofself-pollination. The average fruit mass of the investigated clones over thetwo-year period was variable, ranging from 2.2 to 3.9 g. Fruityield ranged from 82.8 to 89.2%, dry matter content from 10.0 to17.9%, and total acids from 1.44 to 2.05%. Likewise, differeces were observed in the degree ofself-pollination of the investigated clones (7.7 to 44.6% ofinitiated flowers from isolated flowers), though none werecompletely sterile, as well as in the germination capacity ofpollen. Based on the results obtained to date, clones identified as 1, 5,6, 14, 20, 29, 38 and 41 were selected as the most suitable onesfor further reproduction.
