Summary: The authors of this investigation have determined the comtents ofthe most important nutritive matter in kernels of crude andhydrothermically processed soyabean variety "Tisa" which wascreated at the Osijek Agricultural Institute. Data on the trypsin inhibitor content, ureasa and aminoacidactivities, crude pritein, fat, fiber and non-nitrogenextracitible matter contents were determined by a chemicalanalysis. Digestibility coefficients and general nutritive value ofhydrothermically processed soyabean were determined by metabolictesting. Biological value of soyabean, reflected inweight gain, foodconver sion and slaughtering quality of brojlers, was determinedby a biological testing of hydrothermically processed soyabeanused in pig and brojler feeding. It was concluded that hydrothermically processed kernels of thesoyabean variety "Tisa" used in pig and feeding gives very goodresults as reflected in weight gain, food utilisation level andmeat quality of slaughtered brojlers.

Summary: The author of this investigation have determined the content ofnutritive matter in soyabean which was thermically processes(extruded, toasted, hydrothermically processed), thedigestibility, the general feeding and the biological value ofsoyabean used in the diets for pig fattening, the liveweight ofwhich ranged from 27 to 105 kg, as wel as the slaughtering valueof meat (the fat thickness, meatines of halves ). In the biological test with fattening pigs, the control groupfed the conventional mixture had an average daily weight gain of744.6 g. The trial group wich was fed a mixture with extrudedsoyabean content, had the average daily weight gain of 696.7 g,where as both the trial group, which was fed the hydrothermicallyprocessed soyabean, had the average daily weight gain of 701.9 g.The differences between the control and the trial groups were notsignificiant either for the average daily weight gain or the backand the loin fat thickness or the meatiness of halves accordingto regulations (p>0.05). The digestibility of nutritive matter in soyabean thermicallyprocessed was determined for three pigs by differencialprocedure. The differences were not significiant.

Summary: Concentrations of crude proteins, fat, fiber and ash weredetermined by chemichal analyses in hydrothermically processedwheat straw and maize stalks. The digestibility coefficients and the general nutritive valuefor rams were determinedby methabolic testing. The results of the investigation have shown that hydrothermicalprocessing of wheat straw and maize stalks increased thenutritive value by 186% and 28% respectively.

Summary: The objective of this investigation was to determine the contentof nutritive matter in raw and heat processed kernels of barleyvariety Sladoran (toasting), the digestibility and the generalnutritive value. The direct method was used to detrmine digestibility of nutritivematter in raw and toasted barley kernels on three experimentalpigs. From the results obtained in this investigation, it can beconcluded that the heat processing of barley kerneles increasedthe general nutritive value compared to that of raw barleykernels.

Title: Comparative research of nutritive-biological value in feed yeast and soyabean thermically processed
    Faculty: Prehrambeno-biotehnološki Sveučilište u Zagrebu

    Language: hrvatski

Summary: The nutritive and biological value of feed yeast and soybeanthermically processed is based on the concentration anddigestibility of nutritive constituents as well as the presenceof toxic elements. The best estimate is taken by conductingbiological trials on animals. Heat klabile antinutritive factors present in raw soybens canbeen denatured by several heat tretmans (extrusions, micronisation and hydrothermical process). The biomass of feedyeast contains none of the above mentioned antinutritive factors.Digestibility of nutritive constituents in brewer's yeast andheat treated soybean products was examined in comparativebiological tests with pigs. The best digestibility of crudeprotein achieved with brewer's yeast and extruded soybean (90%),whereas the biological values of brewer's yeast and extruded, micronised and hydrothermically processed soybean were 85, 76, 73and 72%, respectively. In spite of high biological equivalence(BE/1.75) of vaste brewer's yeast determined in comparasion tosoybean meal containin 44% crude protein, the commercial value ofvaste brewer's yeast (430 $/t) is not economically competetivewith current price of soybean thermically processed (190 $/t). Therefore, performance of pigs fattened with mixtures in whichsoybean was replaced only with thermically processed soybean, rather than with yeast was examined. No significant differenceswere obserwed in body mass, growth rate and food conversionratio, among the treatments. Also, there were no noticableeffects of type of the treatment on physical carcass quality. However, body fat of the pigs fed soybean thermically processedhad higher percentage of unsaturated fatty acids, particularly oflinoleic and linolenic acid.
