Summary: Intensive gerbera culture is possible only in a greenhouse(glasshouse or plasthouse). This requires the regulation of microclimatic conditions and their keeping within optimum limits. Theresults obtained suggest the following conclusions. The rang ofhumidity in the mixture of substrate and nutrients significantlyaffect the gerbera flower yeild and quality. Maintaining the highlevel of humidity and air in the substrate mixture (range100-80%) supplying. Smaller doses of mineral fertilizers duringvegetative period is the most favourable for gerbera. Gerbera, asa flower culture, is very sensitive to the culture conditions and should be kept under control throughout the entire vegetativeperiod.

Summary: The principal goal of this study was to establish an optimumhumidity level of the soil for gerbera culture. Culture soilmixture should, first of all, be of favourable physical, chemicaland biological characteristics. As to the physical properties itis important to obtain a medium to light soil texture, permeable, with good air and water capacity. Chemical properties mean thatall necessary nutrients should be provided for the rhizospherezone. The application of drainage is of importance to maintainair-water regime within optimum limits.

Title: THE POSSIBILITIES OF ARTICHOKE GROWING IN DALMATIA
    Number: 6
    ISSN: 0350-6622
    Volume: 30
    Year: 1994
    Pages: from 923 to 925
    Language: hrvatski
Summary: The importance of growing artichoke cultivars in Dalmatia and the possibilities of expanding the culture by introducing new cultivars and different technology were reported. Preliminary results of producing artichokes by vegetative and "seed" propagation as well as annual and perennial growing point an encouraging results.

Proceedings title: 31 Znanstveno stručno agronomsko savjetovanje u Puli
    Language: hrvatski
    Place: Pula
    Year: 1995

    Meeting: Znanstveno stručno savjetovanje
    Held: from 02/20/95 to 02/24/95
Summary: Researches about the possibilities of perennial growing of four artichoke cultivars, Romanesco (Rom), Catanese (Cat), Violetto di Provenza (VdP) and Domaća Viška (DoV) are performed. The plants were propagated vegetatively. The cuttings were took 15.03.92.' year, planted 25.08.1992. year. The plant space was 1.00 m in row and 1.20 m between rows. For all cultivars in 92/93.' year harvest lasted from the 10.05.93.' until 30.06.93.'. In 93/94.' year, harvest lasted from the 02.05. until 28.06. 94.' for Rom, and from 02.05. until 15.06.94.' for DoV. There were two harvest intervals for cultivar Cat from the 10.01. until 12.02. 1994.' and from 02.05. until 28.06.1994. year. During the 92/93.' and 93/94.' year average yield per plant was 521 g for Rom, 376 g for Cat, 323.5 g for DoV and 206.5 g for VdP. The average number of heads per plant was 6.56 for Rom, 5.11 for DoV, 5.07 for Cat and 3.29 for VdP. The results showed that cultivar Romanesco achieved the best yield and the best number of heads per plant.
