Industry

Summary: The authors conduct research on industrial development
within a longer period of time in Croatia. Hence, they identify
significance of industry for overall economic development as well as the
sources of its modern characteristics.
Based on comparative analysis, the authors conclude that Croatia, according
to indicators, has relatively favourable industry structure (high
percentage of manufactoring industry). However, its technology is absolete,
and instead of competitive advantages it is relied on comparative ones.
Therefore, the authors suggest the possible directions of restructuring.
They consider the modernisation to be obtainable in two phases, because of
the nature of the most important developmental determinants.

the point of view of restructuring the economy, are considered from the
position of the Croatian reality. The basic demographic trends are studied
and process of depopulation is noted. The causes of negative economic
trends are found not to be in the sphere of population but vice versa. the
need for multidimensional and multi-layer activities in adaptation of human
resources to the new entrepreneural economic environment is analytically
expounded and that at the level of state, the company and the family i.e.
the individual.

Summary: Developmental characteristics of Norht Adriatic area are
researched in this paper. It is analyzed: (1) to which extent have the
processes of litorralisation been present in setting up of economic
structure; (2) whether has the specific geo-traffic position influenced the
economic structure being (non) favourable.
By application of suitable economic parameters, the developmental
characteristics, the economic structure and the intensity of its changes in
specific city aglomerations are researched. The ranks of development are
compared to the characteristics of litorralisation and to the intensity of
structural changes.
Thereafter, the developmental advantages and disadvantages are analyzed,
and the basic components of possible development scenario of North Adriatic
area are proposed.

Title: Analysis of Special Features of Production Factors and
their Effects on International Exchange
- Authors:
- Strahinja, Dušan (93806)

Summary: The classification of production factors on specific ones
and general ones aims to establish their share in the combination of
production factors. Theoretical prerequisites consider general and flexible
factors as mobile ones, whereas specific of fixed factors are considered to
have non-changable level of availability. The effects of these production
factors on international exchange result with following tendencies,
classified in five types: normal or proportional tendency to export and
import, export, import, ultraexport and ultraimport tendency.
Keywords: specific production factors, flexible factors, availability of production factors, international exchange
Title: Full Rationality Theories
- Authors:
- Smokrović, Nenad (93191)
Journal: Zbornik radova Ekonomskog fakulteta Rijeka

Summary: In this paper the author exposes and systematizes the
theories of full or ideal rationality. They are normative theories of
deductive rationality according to which the rational agent has to satisfy
high logical criteria that are difficult to meet. The criteria that make
sufficient conditions of rationality standards have been considered and
finally the classification of the theories that satisfy those criteria has
been proposed.

Title: Factors of Household Behaviour Changes in Entrepreneural
Economy Countries
- Authors:
- Denona, Nada (161273)
Journal: Zbornik radova Ekonomskog fakulteta Rijeka
Number: 2
ISSN: 1330-6308
Volume: 12
Year: 1994
Pages: from 85 to 99
Number of references: 24
Language: hrvatski
Summary: The paper deals with the factors of transformation in
household behaviour in developed countries. The factors have been grouped
in two main categories: economic and noneconomic factors. Particularly the
changes in household structure have been analyzed as well as the rapid
increase in the number of women in labor market. Pointing out the
characteristics of modern economy, it has been concluded that the basic
economic causality of the observed changes in consumer behaviour can be
explained first of all by the impact of the entrepreneural ambience and
entrepreneurship in general as the key factors of the transformations.

Title: Economic Activity Index of the County of Primorje and
Gorski kotar
- Authors:
- Biljan-August, Maja
- Joyce, Patrick
- Vehovec, Maja (81035)
Journal: Zbornik radova Ekonomskog fakulteta Rijeka
Number: 1
ISSN: 1330-6308
Volume: 13
Year: 1995
Pages: from 17 to 32
Number of references: 11
Language: hrvatski
Summary: The index of economic activity of the County of Primorje
and Gorski Kotar has been worked out on the basis of fourteen selected
separate indicators which best represent economic structure of the region,
with the aim of showing the dynamics of the County's economic activity
level. The trend analysis of the index of economic activity in the County
of Primorje and Gorski Kotar for the period 1985-94 clearly shows two
subperiods: the first one from 85-90, the pre-war period with the economic
activity growth at the average rate of 2.9% a year; the second one since 91
with the war in Croatia considerably hampering the County's economic
activities. Since 93 positive tendencies in economic activities have been
noticed as they got the impetus at the end of the year resulting from the
measures in curbing inflation and from general stabilisation of national
economy. Providing the economic and political circumstances in the Republic
of Croatia do not change, the 1996 economic activity in the County of
Primorje and Gorski Kotar is expected to reach approximately the level of
the pre-war 1990.
